Riot's Confusing MSI Seeding

I am super confused by Riot's seeding for MSI. Seeding should be based off of recent performance, and yet Korea is still seeded higher than NA even though NA outlasted them at worlds last year.

Why is Korea seeded higher than NA even though NA proved their superiority at worlds last year?

Counter question...

Why would a single appearance in semifinals since....well.. EVER ... weigh more then several years of complete domination? Should years after years of great performance all be washed away after one poor worlds performance? (And by "poor" i mean that korea still left two groups as the first seeds, so it really wasnt that bad; just bad compared to the domination shown before..).

I think that one slip-up shouldnt put you at the bottom. Consistent performance should, imo, be the relevant factor - not one team finally making it to semis, while the other two teams did poorly.

Until Korea only has one team get out of groups and NA wins two consecutive World's trophies, this question shouldn't be asked.

It all comes down to LAS and LAN merging into one region. Riot were left with one play in spot and NA just so happened to be the best team to fill it.

It's always been based on a 2 year success metric since they adopted the concept in 2017.

Haha... In the history of MSI, NA have only once made it out of group stage where they were swept 3-0. Just be glad that they even qualify automatically for 2nd stage play-ins where 3 out of the 4 teams move into main event. LCK, LPL and LMS have all had far better appearances past group stages, if you follow the history of MSI you wouldn't be super confused.
