Current Status of Competitive LoL

Competitive LoL is a popular eSport, with millions of viewers online, but little know about the organizations and what troubles they run into along the way. Recently, Team Renegades, a team that just managed to qualify for LCS was banned after Riot found out about the original owner "conspiring" with the current owner over matches. Renegades LoL has been disbanded and Renegades was forced to sell their team. Along with issues with management, there are issues with players. Perkz of G2 stated that his team hadn't practiced for MSI. With teams slacking off like this along with the whole previous "skipping groups" issue, I think LoL is not in a very good position in terms of competition, given the number of players banned for ELO boosting and management issues like this. Feel free to leave your thoughts. ~ruski

My Thoughts Are As Follows...

  1. Hmmm
  2. What?
  3. Is it over yet?
  4. Is this season gonna be any more toxic?
  5. When will we see more of a(n) competitive ground (different map) for Ranked?

Has nothing to do with the Esports fiasco? (shrugs) What do you expect from serious gamers?

Seems good to me. I have enjoyed watching the games at MSI even if Top, jungle and mid are stuck in a trinity of champions and there is very little champ diversity.

I think Riots commitment to protecting the players from badly managed teams is commendable and not every company or sports league does that kind of thing. The Renegades ban is kind of esoteric and hard to pin down what exactly happen but the impulse ban is clear mismanagement and has been handled appropriately.

I honestly have no idea who this Chad guy is and why he was banned and how the renegades were interacting with him. I believe since the Samsung v Samsung world champs they changed the rules so teams couldn't have direct development teams or multiple teams in leagues The renegades were breaking those rules by colluding with dragon knights.

If the teams knew the rules and broke them they need to be punished simple as that. Its not like these scandles don't happen all the time in other sports... they do constantly... look at FIFA!... or here in Australia teams have salary caps to prevent teams from pay to win but teams are constantly violating those rules to try to get an advantage.
