So what's everyone thinking about NA bootcamping with EU. Personally I'm curious.

I mean it makes sense. Rekkles put it pretty straightforward: why go to another region, adjust to a routine for like a week and come back having to adjust again? Rephrase it a bit and that's what NA would deal with too.

It's also gone to show for quite some time that SoloQ on an individual scale doesn't magically make a whole team cohesively better. Think about it: how many times has it been go to Korea, grind your ass off and make highlight reels you could make anywhere, scrims, and...fail on the stage?

So why not? Better off getting used to being where the tournament will be, keep seasoned up, and prep accordingly without exerting too much on the adjustment.

It's a good idea, especially if they boot camp with EU teams. EU is really looking solid right now and I personally think they are the new Korea in terms of the current meta.

It will/should create chaos that hasn't been seen much at Worlds for example - it will create 2 different kinds of "meta" + Worlds will take place 3 patches(9.19) than what most of the teams have experienced(many teams played Playoffs/Finals on patch 9.15 and 9.16.

With so much chaos it'll most likely break one of the top tier teams(G2 Esports, SK Telecom T1, Team Liquid or Funplus Phoenix) one of which more than likely Wont make it out of Groups. Similar to LGD back in 2015.

With half of the teams more than likely not being able to learn from each other Western Teams - Eastern Teams It'll make teams not able to scrim each other in which in turn again, will create chaos and possibly give advantages to the lower tier teams(Cloud 9, Splyce, Damwon, Invictus Gaming etc) and have many/most teams be in the dark as far as picks, bans etc

Remember, many of the teams that didn't get any scrims in the past actually turned out to be an advantage such as,

Cloud 9 2015 Summer - 7th place to first round regional didn't get any scrims and when they did scrim(CLG who won 2015 Summer) it was speculated that the members of CLG would role swap because they didn't view C9 as a real team.... Cloud 9 was the best performing NA team that year.

Albus Nox Luna 2016 - Didn't get much respect(myself included) to the point where famous journalist/solo Q players( LS) called them "Albus Dumbledore". Zven from G2 that year the #1 EU team called them just another "Wildcard team". Albus Nox tied Rox Tigers for the #1 Seed in groups that year and even won against Rox in an 50 min game.

Hell, just recently with Clutch Gaming not getting scrims from the last boss of the regional tournament TSM and they cancelled scrims with Clutch and Clutch won 3 best of 5's.

So yeah, this Worlds should be a Who's Who as far as who's going to actually win or even able to make it out of groups. I personally have no clue on who's going to win Worlds or even make it out, sure, I have my favorites to make it out( SKT, G2) but I'm not as confident as I was in the past.

This will also be a shut up or put up year for North America it's NOW OR NEVER and I'm not saying NA needs to win Worlds but to have just 1 NA team CLOUD 9 be the only silver lining...it's getting old.

Hang on, boot camping? Like military boot camp? Setting aside the rather dire designation of that phrase to such a meaningless thing, this is actually something LCS players have to do? They don't... sort of, do this all the time just by playing?
