Fantasy Scouting Report: Week 7
With Super Week looming ahead, teams left everything on the Rift in Week 6. Consistent performers like Alliance, XiaoWeiXiao, and Rekkles continued to make their owners proud, but there were some shake-ups in the Fantasy LCS landscape. Who has been stumbling, and who has been rising to the challenge? Only the Scouting Report can tell.
RISING PLAYERS
Altec - AD Carry, Evil Geniuses
As teams adjust to the 4.10 patch, AD carries with deep champion pools will benefit from the nerfs to Twitch and Lucian. Altec's Jinx carried his team to an incredible win this week, earning himself a pentakill along the way. By now, Altec's tenure on the team has removed any questions regarding his synergy with Krepo; this young star's arrow seems to be pointing straight up. With the addition of Helios, Evil Geniuses' steady improvement will only lead to more opportunities for Altec to shred through enemy teams (his fantasy point totals have been increasing by nearly 10 each week since Helios joined the team).
Gleeb - Support, Team SoloMid
Team SoloMid has found new life since their coach, Locodoco, arrived on the scene. Wildturtle’s gameplay has been improving every week and Gleeb is reaping the rewards (no fewer than 30 points in the past three weeks). TSM is a team that loves to create fights and turn advantages into kills. Their return to form has led to Gleeb’s rise to the top of Support rankings; it’s hard to believe he actually scored negative points in Week 2!
Impaler - Jungle, Supa Hot Crew
After two disappointing weeks (17 pts in Week 3 and 8 pts in Week 4), Impaler finished both Week 5 and 6 with 32 points, a dramatic improvement for him. And despite the Supa Hot Crew's average team record (7-7), Impaler has only fallen below 15 points once this season. If Supa Hot Crew can remain consistent, owners will be pleased with regular 30-point games from their jungler. However, what is truly exciting about Impaler is his potential ceiling. If he can remain a solid pick while Supa Hot Crew maintains an even record, his points could skyrocket if the team ever gets on a hot streak. Even fantasy teams with strong junglers would do well to stash Impaler on their bench, just in case.
FALLING PLAYERS
Imaqtpie - AD Carry, Dignitas
While remaining a top level team in the LCS, Dignitas has failed to give their ADC a standout fantasy week. In the past four weeks, Imaqtpie has not scored more than 27 points. Outside of Super Week, he has never broken the 50-point barrier. Dignitas' success has kept him as a reliable flex option, but owners hoping for a breakout performance will have to look elsewhere.
Shook - Jungle, Alliance
After Alliance's incredible performance in Week 5, it was tough for the team to remain strong in Week 6. But Shook slipped all the way from 51 points to 23. He was 6 points below his poorest performing teammate, Wickd, and finished the week ahead of only Crumbzz and Meteos for junglers. While Shook remains on a great team and will benefit from Alliance's outstanding performances, owners should be cautious of just how low Shook may fall.
Celaver - AD Carry, ROCCAT
Celaver's best weeks have been outstanding (47, 51 pts) but outside of those two, he has never had a week over 30 points. And he has had two weeks below 20. Owners and fans of ROCCAT may have hoped his 51-point performance in Week 5 was the start of something new for Celaver, but his fall from grace in Week 6 shows that his highlight was much more likely a blip on the radar than any sort of positive trend.
