Quarterfinals Question

Why didn't Cloud 9 play in games leading up to the quarterfinals and had to come into the QFs cold. Yet Fanatic got to have a bunch of lead in games and come in with a bunch of games under their belt recently.

Whatever C9 won to get the "bye" until the quarterfinals has thrown them to the wolves. The layoff killed them.

Did they get the bye for winning the LCS? If thats the case, that seems more like a punishment than an advantage. You give them 6 days of learning to play against EU and Asian teams, they would do much better.

IMO

The only region that didn't get a bye was EU because they got last at All-Stars. They had a chance to scrim foreign teams all week, I doubt the result would have been different if they had went through groups and met Fanatic in the Quarters again.

They are one of the teams that quickly adapts to their opponent's playstyle. I think they would have done better if they had a chance to face them more leading up to this.

Whether they would have won or not. Who knows.

While I don't think it's fair to say that Cloud 9 came into the Quarterfinals cold, I do think that the lack of games they were able to play is frustrating for a number of C9 fans, and even fans of other teams who wanted to see whether C9 would really live up to the hype.
