Team SoloMid stunned many North American fans when they announced that
Amazing was stepping down. Amazing also wrote a lengthy post on his
Facebook page to further clarify what lead him to return to Europe.
Both posts alluded to the fact that Amazing left TSM because he wanted to go home where he could be closer to his family and friends, who would help him cope with some of the adversity of being a professional video gamer.

Where does Team SoloMid turn?

An announcement from TSM mentioned that tryouts for the vacant jungler position would begin on October 20. TSM’s established track record of success had players lining up to try and make it onto the starting roster. Shortly after the tryouts ended, speculation erupted that Team SoloMid had
extended an offer to Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, former jungler of Team Coast.
While it has been confirmed that Santorin has left Team Coast, Team SoloMid has yet to make an official announcement.
Santorin is a fascinating prospect for TSM. While he is originally from Denmark, he competed in both the NA Challenger Series and Team Coast's playoff run, giving him major tournament experience. He looks to be a solid fit for the TSM roster due to Coast’s similar play style, relying heavily on their LCS veteran laners to score wins, utilizing Santorin to keep the pressure up.
In a
recent AMA, Bjergsen even expressed admiration for the former Coast jungler, stating "I think Santorin is a really solid jungler, he performed well and Coast and does well when I duoqueue with him. It's obvious where his jungle style comes from with the way his old team dynamic was, he's great at ganking bottom lane, since Sheep consistently plays very well on champs like Thresh/Leona to set up ganks."
Looking Forward

In his Facebook post, Amazing highlighted TSM having “a lot of struggle implementing [Amazing] into the TSM system” as well as inconsistencies surrounding TSM’s shot-calling. Given how quickly TSM is moving to find a replacement for Amazing, fans can certainly hope that these early growing pains will be dulled by extra practice time.
While it is unlikely that whichever player replaces Amazing will be a tremendous mechanical upgrade, that player will certainly have more advantageous circumstances. For one, there will be more time to acclimate to the team. Amazing faced a time crunch thanks to joining the team between splits in 2014, while the new player will have time to learn the “TSM system” before the split begins. Assuming the system comes together, the external factors that Amazing had trouble with will also be minimized. All of these factors paint a bright picture for the new player’s tenure with North America’s No. 1 team.
