The European LCS started turning on its head during Super Week, and it only continued in Week 8. Copenhagen Wolves and Team Roccat reeled off 2-0 weeks while Alliance, the preeminent power through the first two months of the summer, couldn’t manage even a single win. There’s a dogfight shaping up over that top spot as a red hot Fnatic squad has shaken off their early lethargy, and is blowing teams away every time they step on the Rift.
Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim & Martin “Rekkles” Larsson - Duo lane - Fnatic
Fnatic hasn’t lost in two weeks, largely on the back of their bottom lane duo, who have been shattering everyone in their way. The pair combined for a 24.5 KDA against SK Gaming & Supa Hot Crew this week, and don’t look to slow down anytime soon. They were particularly effective against SK with YellOwStar having a garish nineteen assists, while Rekkles’s Vayne killed everything in sight to post a 9/1/8 score for the match.
Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski - Jungler - Team Roccat
Jankos posted a 9.33 KDA in Team Roccat’s pair of victories on the week, putting together a particularly special performance on Vi against Alliance. He started the snowball early with precise ganks, and when Alliance clawed back into the game, Jankos’ perfect Assault and Battery on Tabzz initiated the teamfight that broke all of Alliance’s momentum. In that game, he racked up a 5/2/10 KDA and earned him Week 8 EU LCS MVP.

Team Roccat vs Alliance Team Roccat’s stiffest test over the past two weeks turned into a gutty performance that cemented Roccat as a contender. Overpow and company opened up a huge lead, but saw Alliance mount a furious comeback to put the game in doubt after a half hour of action. Instead of falling to pieces - or going back into the indecisive shell that marred the team for weeks this summer - Roccat came out swinging. Whenever Alliance found a glimmer of hope, Team Roccat snuffed it out with team-fighting vengeance. It may have taken them 54 minutes to close it out, but being able to rally for a huge win may give them the spark they need to make their run at the top spot in Europe. Copenhagen Wolves vs Millenium The Copenhagen Wolves followed a destruction of Gambit Gaming with a bloodbath against Millenium. The teams combined for 43 kills over 38 minutes in a wild, seesawing game that looked like it could go either way at any given moment. Throughout the game, Millenium did their best to set up flanking maneuvers to close out fights before Woolite’s Corki and cowTard’s Lulu kited them to death. However, the Wolves sniffed out their opponents’ strategy and properly warded their flanks, taking advantage of slight mental lapses from Millenium to walk away from the bloody brawl with a victory.Top performers of the week
