The Results

Match 1

Mattias Lehman - Gustaf's Gentlemen (4-1)

Even the mightiest of warriors must one day fall in battle, and even the classiest Gentlemen must be outclassed. I hadn’t expected that loss to come at the hands of the 1-3 Code Monkeys, but I couldn’t possibly expect to win after both Millenium and Dignitas had 1 really bad game each, and I knew that would happen eventually. Dignitas has been less and less exciting with each week, and I’m starting to doubt the strength of my roster, as I came in #7 in points this week. If I lose this week, it might mark the first time I fall from the coveted #1 spot. However, Dignitas plays against LMG and CLG next week, while Millenium plays Alliance and SK Gaming, so I’m rooting less for a personal victory than a loss for Dragonslayer Teemo.

Thomas Watts - Code Monkeys (2-3)

The Code Monkeys scored their second win this past week, knocking off the previously undefeated Gustaf's Gentleman. As is the tradition with every Monkey victory, extra Fritos and Mountain Dew for all the loyal Monkeys out there. Your head Monkey had the forbearance, or blind luck, to pick up Helios off of the waiver wire and he was forced into a start following the Gambit Gaming monkey business, and lack of Diamond as a viable alternative. The rest of the team was a dominant force, and the Monkeys actually had the top score in the league this past week. Team SoloMid appearing to right the ship has turned Gleebglarbu into the Monkey's starter barring a brutal week on the schedule. The only spot that will bear watching now is the jungle moving forward. The head Monkey will keep his eyes peeled on waivers for upgrades just the same.

Match 2

Josh Augustine - Yordle Ascension (2-3)

At some point in the last five weeks, I'm certain that I angered a vengeful witch doctor. Somewhere, a voodoo doll of my team is being poked with sharp objects. Stab! Play against Kerp and Shiphtur on super week. Stab! Points to the top laner on your bench. Stab! Opposing support gets 50+ points. Fantasy LCS can certainly crush your ego at times. I'm not ready to guarantee that trading for Link is a good move at this point, but he's shown two consistent performances in a row. Keep an eye on him for potential trades if you're hurting at mid. Shook redeemed his abysmal performance last week with 50 points at Wembley to put me within spitting distance of my opponent. Hopefully that means Alliance is back on track and it's safe to bring in Wickd from my bench.

Trent Murray - This is My Smurf (2-3)

This week came down to a difference in Team selection. My opponent and I were very evenly matched in almost every position, but Alliance just had a much better week than the Supa Hot Crew. The two teams I placed my faith in during the draft were Cloud 9 and Alliance--with Cloud 9 starting to rebound, and Alliance continuing to grow, I could end up with a strong late season push. Especially if Seraph has finally learned that its ok to take kills away from Doublelift and Link.

Match 3

Ferguson Mitchell - FergSquad (1-4)

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Actually, it was mostly just the worst of times. FergSquad, our win last week may have appeared, in that moment, as a revival for our downtrodden team. Alas, twas but a moment, and we again have fallen to the might of our compatriots' more point-bearing teams. Consistency is the key for us, the key that is, rather than being used to turn locks, held against the side panels of our car and being scraped against it, bringing up paint and tears in kind. For every good week our LMQ bottom duo provide, a poor performance is equally delivered. Dare I break up the couple with a Hail Mary pass to VandeR, whose suddenly winning team might provide scant few more points to a team in need such as us? Or dare I trade, seeking perhaps a replacement for woe-begotten Crumbzz, whose Dignitas membership has turned suddenly to a curse? With no clear answer, I elect to wait and see. FergSquad, dismissed.

Kelsey Moser - Diana Fire (2-3)

The most important thing to note is that I was the only blue side winner this week. I think this is down to my team's control of the Baron area. In reality, the Celaver pick that I've been holding onto finally came up big for me this week, though I had no real indication that it would, and the performance of my poorest point-earners were coincidentally mirrored on my opponent's team. It's as if the ROCCAT stars finally aligned to reward the faithful. I doubt it will happen again.

Match 4

Andrew Whitmore - Rainbow Unicorns (3-2)

CURSE YOU ALLIANCE! I was so close to winning this week but Tabzz came back at the last second for Neoillusions and destroyed me. Calling a mulligan on this week, considering all of NA went 1-1 even when they had no reason to (looking at you CLG and Cloud9). Next week will be extremely close with CLG and LMQ having tough weeks combined with my opponent having Cloud9’s easy week solidified with Hai and Sneaky. I can’t afford another loss, so here’s to hoping to NA finally becoming consistent this split and not being trash cans. Also, TSM and Dignitas please give Doublelift a couple pentakills – thanks.

Jack Ho - Dragonslayer Teemo (4-1)

What a close finish this week against Rainbow Unicorns to keep me in the running for No. 1! Going into the last match of the week, I was down 191 points to Glyceroll's 231 but Tabzz had a monstrous game against Copenhagen Wolves and pushed me over the top for a single digit point victory. This is what Fantasy LCS is all about! SK gave me a scare earlier in the week after their shaky performance against Alliance. I was banking on a blood bath between the top 2 EU teams but Alliance routed my guys too fast. Luckily, SK bounced back against SHC and that kept me on par against Rainbow Unicorn's CLG loaded lineup. Next week should be an easier week for SK as they face up against Millenium and ROCCAT. I hope that they not only win but they also rack up kills, turrets, and Dragons to make their victories worthwhile. With a fairly straight forward lineup, my only point to ponder is whether to start Kev1n or Dyrus this week.
