Here's a cruel reality: Watching every professional League of Legends match from every professional League of Legends league leaves little time to look at much else. You also may find yourself overusing words that begin with the letter "L." Wouldn't it be nice if someone would just come along and suggest the very best games to watch? Good news! We are just that someone! Each week, we'll put you to the five stand-out games of the week--one from each region--as well as pick our top play. Think there are games we missed? Leave your suggestions in the comments below!
What's more satisfying than watching 4.12 Lucian live and unbanned? Watching him lose. When even OMG couldn't deal with this low cooldown, high escape terror, StarHorn Royal Club succeeded in shutting him down twice in a row. The true story of the game, however, was inSec's unpredictable moves. He seemed to be everywhere, while Clearlove struggled to stay in the game. Even so, Edward Gaming nearly snuck back in it with expert team fighting, but they were promptly rebuffed by the Kitty Ball when inSec and corn executed the stealth Rengar-Orianna Shockwave combination to great effect. With more carry performances to propel SHRC to the top, we expect them to be a powerful force in the LPL Summer Playoffs. Written by Kelsey Moser. GPL Semifinals 2 - Logitech G Fighter vs AHQ, Game 2 Logitech G Fighters making it to the semifinals was already unexpected, as they'd lost to Neolution Full Louis in the quarterfinals. But their hopes were revitalized after a scandal broke out amid the Vietnamese scene regarding the age of NFL's key players, and with the entire team disqualified, the Fighters were blessed with a second chance at the title -- only to run headlong into their sibling team AHQ. But they'd spent the week before the postponed match in heavy preparation, and the results showed via an early victory in game one, and a seemingly dominant game two start. But they're still too rookie a team, and former GPL champions AHQ too resilient as veterans. In a best of five set, experience and endurance matters most, and AHQ's very used to playing from behind. Though the Fighters had a kill lead and control of the Dragon area at 16 minutes, the explosive coordination between GarnetDevil and Westdoor instantly flipped the game on its head, tipping the AHQ snowball over the hill and down towards the Fighters' nexus. Uzi's 3v5 pentakill Uzi's Vayne is one of the most feared champions in the professional League of Legends, and for good reason. This pentakill in StarHorn Royal Club's second game against Invictus Gaming is one of the most impressive we've ever seen. Watch out for inSec's Shaco to come out of nowhere to ensure Uzi pulls off the remarkable feat, as well. This Week, Around the World
EU LCS: Game of the week: Supa Hot Crew vs Team ROCCAT Game 3 The best game of the week was also the longest at almost sixty-eight minutes. The game's longevity brought forth nine Dragon kills and four Baron kills that each team grabbed a handful of. It was a back-and-forth affair where Supa Hot Crew desperately tried to keep MrRallez's Twitch clean while Team ROCCAT wanted to utilize their composition's multiple engage tools to crack open the Crew. The final stanza of the game was a Baron empowered SHC managing to kill the ROC Nexus even as ROC's Celaver and Overpow were throwing damage onto the Crew's back line. Written by Thomas Watts.
