Meet the newest addition to the North American LCS -- Enemy Esports (NME)! The NME boys clinched the 2015 Challenger Series Spring Split Championship in a 3-1 win over Team Dragon Knights Wednesday night. Their victory has secured them a spot in the 2015 NA LCS Summer Split, where they’ll face the likes of Team SoloMid, Cloud 9, and Counter Logic Gaming week in and week out, live and on stage at the LCS studios.
Here are the names you’ll get to know this summer:
- Top - Cuong “Flaresz” Ta
- Jungle - Jonas “Trashy” Andersen
- Mid - Tyson “InnoX” Kapler
- ADC - Brian “otter” Baniqued
- Support - Adam “Bodydrop” Krauthaker
Enemy tore apart the Challenger scene this Spring split, finishing the regular season 9-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Team Fusion in Week 2. As favorites in their match against TDK, Enemy jungler Jonas “Trashy” Andersen felt that pressure of performing in front of a live audience was a factor that they were not entirely ready for. “We need to get more used to playing on stage, we played a bit worse than we usually do.” says Trashy. “That was why the series was a bit closer than most people thought.”

Getting used to the LAN environment isn’t the only hurdle that Enemy will have to overcome though, as the level of competition in the LCS will be a new experience for most of the team. Mid laner Tyson “InnoX” Kapler, who played in the top lane for Evil Geniuses during the 2014 NA LCS, is the only member of the current Enemy roster with more than a couple games of LCS experience. “LCS teams are a lot better at punishing small things, and if you fall behind against an LCS team, it's a lot harder to get back in the game, because they will push their lead,” Trashy explains.
As for his new competition in the jungle, Trashy points out Team SoloMid’s jungler and fellow Dane Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen as the biggest threat he’ll face this season. “There’s always a thought behind ‘why would you rotate to this lane,’ ‘why would you gank here,’ ‘why do you do this,’ and [TSM] are just so on point.”
For Trashy, the opportunity to play against the likes of Santorin and company is a challenge that will only make him better. “That is what I want to learn,” he says. “I just hope I can develop into as good a player as them.”
Just Getting Started...
Enemy are up for the challenge, says Trashy, and it all starts with their synergy as a team. “We all mesh really well together, I have never felt this way about a team before, it feels like we’re a big family. I think it shows in the crowd, there is like a whole family of Enemy. It just gives such a good environment for everyone,” he explains. For the Enemy family, making it into the LCS was just the beginning. “My personal goal with the team is to get into the playoffs,” says Trashy. “If we work hard enough I think we can potentially get to the top of the NA LCS, that’s at least what I think.”
Ready to board the Enemy hype train? Team owners Dan “Clerkie” Clerke and Robert “Chachi” Stemmler have just one request, bring the noise! “I want us to have the most rabid fans in the LCS,” says Clerkie. “I want teams coming into an NME match being afraid of our fans, that they’re gonna be able to hear them through their headsets.” Remind you of anyone? “We won’t have as many fans as TSM, but we can be louder” Chachi proclaims.

While Enemy Esports look to prove they’ve got the right stuff this Summer, Team Dragon Knight’s LCS aspirations aren’t quite dead yet. They will enter the 2015 NA LCS Spring Promotion tournament alongside Team Fusion where they will play either Team Dignitas or Winterfox. Stay tuned to
