Last week, we confirmed the return of EU Regionals to Gamescom and NA Regionals to PAX. We’re excited to share that the next LCS event after NA Regionals will be the 2015 Spring Promotion Tournament. EU and NA teams will be at the LCS Studio in Los Angeles, CA on September 9-11 for a chance to qualify for next season. On the stage of the Promotion Tournament, the bottom three teams from each LCS region will be defending their spots in the league against top contenders from the Challenger circuit. Promotion Tournaments ensure the best teams are in the league, and it’s also an opportunity to shake up the LCS and Challenger scene with new talent, strategies, and storylines. All Promotion Tournament matches will be best of 5, with the winners moving on to the LCS for the 2015 Spring split. Last year, we hosted the Promotion Tournament after Worlds but we decided to move it up earlier this year to give newly qualified teams additional time to prepare themselves for the LCS. We also wanted to avoid teams being in limbo for months, not knowing if they would qualify for the next season or not. We’re still finalizing plans for 2015, most notably by continuing to consider a possible League expansion and we’ll continue to share updates about how events like the Promotion Tournament will fit into next season.

if a team from EU has players that can't make it you 100% have to postpone their games and have them in Cologne

Why? Just why EU teams has to play in USA for their promotions? Also, why this playoffs are held in midweek (tuesday-thursday)? It just makes sure that Europeans won't be able to watch NA teams because they have to go to work in the morning. Like, seriously...

I'm kind of confused as to why you guys would chose to schedule this huge event for Tuesday-Thursday when Friday-Sunday are still apparently available. You're making teams travel great distances for this, and then sticking it in the middle of the week, greatly limiting the number of people who can watch/attend.

I really don't get why EU teams are having their promotion games in North America. Aren't most of their fans located in EU? It is a bit perplexing
