eSports arenas

Greetings Summoners!

This is going to sound like an odd question… but what makes a successful eSports arena? What are the requirements for the fans, players, employees, equipment, stage, cos-players, celebrities (can’t have a line waiting to give Sp4zie a hug shutting down a tournament!), and all the other little things that I as a fan have no idea go on behind the scenes. I am looking for small and large scale. What does the Riot stadium have that you wish you had at the Seoul World Championships and vice versa? Having never been to a live event (crossing my fingers for tickets to worlds in Chicago) I cannot speak from experience but I want to know what the fan experience is like. What do people walk out of the facility saying. What was awesome? What could have been better? For me – and I’m sure I’m not alone - what makes eSports great is the accessibility of the pros and celebrities thru streaming. Being able to watch, interact with, and even play with your favorite player or shout caster or content creator gives it a leg up on other professional sports. How can we take this aspect of the game and implement it in building form?

eSports is the future of entertainment. Both live and online. I am trying to make sure that we are ready for it and need some help from the people that are the best at it.

I look forward to hearing everyone's input about this. I have a couple messages in the Riot email boxes regarding this and would love for a more intimate conversation about it as well.

Thanks everyone!
