All-Star Fantasy Picks: The Danish Destroyer

155 is a lot of kills over the course of a split. It is, in fact, the most kills out of the entire NA and EU LCS. Team Solomid's decision to import the talented European to their mid lane was a fateful one – the acquisition of a human weapon well-suited to dominate Summoner's Rift.

A History of Violence

Bjergsen's debut in the LCS was actually with the Copenhagen Wolves in Season 3. He suffered a loss against Evil Geniuses, but it only took him one game to adapt to the LCS-level: versus Against All Authorities, Bjergsen's infamous Syndra wasn't just a dominating force, but he also secured the first Penta kill in the EU LCS. With that victory, he helped end the Wolves' 0-9 slump. And by the end of the first EU LCS split, the Copenhagen Wolves secured at least one game off of every team, and Bjergsen established himself as a premier player of Europe's hotly contested mid lane scene.

World Warrior

The Copenhagen Wolves' players split from the organization and reformed as Ninjas in Pyjamas for the summer split. But NiP would have its own share of troubles, leaving its individual players adrift come the 2014 Season. Sensing a massive opportunity, North America's Team Solomid made the pitch – and got the catch. Bjergsen joined the North American competition, replacing team owner Andy "Reginald" Dinh. The impact was immediate, with Bjergsen immediately securing MVP twice in a row, and TSM occupying the very top of the charts for ten straight weeks with him at the mid lane helm. And when it came time for the audience to cast All-Stars votes, it was Bjergsen leading the ballots by a staggering number. What's not to like; in only 22 games (out of 28), he eclipsed all other players in total kills, owns a Karma Penta kill, and has electrifying micro on mechanically demanding champions such as Zed and Syndra. These factors only reinforce that Bjergsen is the player to watch in Fantasy LCS.

Room To Grow

Though Bjergsen's been wildly successful, his time in North America hasn't been one swept lane after another. Between patch changes and the buffs to Heal and Exhaust, he's struggled like the rest of his team to adjust his play style to fit the new environment. Former reliance on assassins turned to liabilities in the face of long-range (and safe) siege – though he's mechanically proficient on Lulu and Ziggs as well, they've lacked the same flair he demonstrated at the beginning of the year. However, with Amazing replacing TheOddOne in the jungle, other teams must adapt to a new-look TSM, and given Amazing's history (back-to-back week MVPs in the EU LCS), this is a potent duo to watch out for in summer. And now, Bjergsen gets a full split to work wonders with.
