I kinda know like nothing about LCS, Worlds, or any of that. I know that it's SKT vs. KOO (whatever that stands for.) I only got this PaiN icon because my friend sent it to me for no reason. So... Is the best team SKT or something? People always talk about them. I always say I like Fnatic the best, though, because I main Janna and they made a Janna skin. So can someone tell me the basic things i need to know? I just started playing this January.

What kind of questions do you have? LCS, Worlds, and eSports is a pretty broad topic to try to describe.

SKT is the heavy favorite to win because they have been virtually undefeated this season. The final game is SKT vs. KOO Tigers, which are both Korean teams, so just based on the fact that SKT was the best Korean team who came to Worlds, most believe they should win.

In my personal opinion, the Worlds tournament has looked easiest for SKT. They just seem to gain a lead and never let it go. They seem to make the least mistakes and have the favorable match-up in every position individually, and can also turn that individual dominance into clean shot-calling, rotations, and teamfights. They are not without their mistakes, but they seem to be the best at reacting to mistakes and not allowing other teams to take advantage of them while simultaneously punishing others' mistakes to run away with the game. Basically, I have not seen them struggle during Worlds (the first game vs. Origen in the semi-finals was the closest to struggle I have seen).

Okay so here is what you need to know about the competitive scene for League. SKT has been one of the most dominant teams in all of League. Even when they aren't play up to par they look strong. They were the season 3 world champs and season 4 was a season to rebuild and they fell apart. Now they've got a bit of team synergy back and look like the strongest team ever in the sport. No glaring weaknesses which is hard to do for any team.

As everyone should know Riot builds their champs to have specific power spikes with champs whether its early game (Panth Eve Lucian) mid game (Any trinity force tear champ) late game(Most AD carries except Corki). Now with this the teams builds around these timings and you have teams that specialize in early, mid or late game. Its hard for a team to build a hybrid comp and dominate all phases of the game unless the jungler gives them an advantage to accelerate the game but feeding kills to the lane.

Most teams opt for the one power spike strategy where they bully or passively make their way to their power spike. SKT has been able to play whatever they want. Early mid or late they can manipulate the map enough to fight whenever they want and win. When you watch them arguably the weakest point for them is the early game. Teams have tried to take advantage of that in the past like FNC and AHQ during spring and came out mildly successful. BUT now SKT have even shored up that weakness. Picking mid game power spikes and accelerating them with vision and objective control. Each lane knows exactly when they can bully you out and take an objective. You dive them early? Well they will take your turret. You take dragon? We'll take your jungle and tower. It's so hard to play against a team with so few weaknesses.

Another point is Faker. The have arguably the best player in the world on their team. Season 3 he could dominate you on most champs. Faker has a HUGE champion pool and plays most champs at 90-95%. Most pro players only play comfort picks or picks they've practiced many times before. And yes faker can be outplayed by those people. But even when he is outplayed he can manage to stay relevant to the rest of his team. He is always focused down in team fights and in pick and bans so his other teammates can play whatever the heck they want. Faker pulls out weird champs from time to time which are hard to counter, but he hasn't done that so much at worlds with the exception of Olaf mid against BKT. With a player like faker on your team, its no wonder the whole team can shine when everyone is so focused on a player like him. He's only played ryze at worlds and people are wondering why... He has HAD to play anything no one can shut his Ryze down so why show anything else?

Basically SKT is superman without the weakness to kryptonite. You have to be on point to take anything from them as they will smash your face in if you make a mistake. I mean there is so much more to say but I'm horrible at long discussions. Just ask if you have more questions.
