Patch 4.10 shook up the landscape of the North American LCS. New champions like Tristana and Skarner made appearances, and champion changes led to a shakeup in the standings. CLG and Dignitas rode a roller coaster of dominating wins and disappointing losses, while struggling teams like compLexity and Evil Geniuses continued to show improvement. It was a full week of explosive fights and incredible action that set up for a very exciting Super Week to come.

GAMES OF THE WEEK

compLexity vs Cloud9 CompLexity's second victory over Cloud9 came primarily from their impressive champion synergy. The early game was mostly back and forth, with both teams picking up kills and objectives across the map. Team fights were largely even as well for a bit, despite Westrice missing Shyvana's Dragon's Descent to tart several fights out of position. However, as the game progressed, compLexity's strength began to show itself. With multiple tools to allow Yasuo's Last Breath to trigger, along with well-timed Sona Crescendos from Bubbadub, compLexity were able to force a critical fight that led to a free baron. From there, Robertxlee's Tristana had acquired enough gold to take over the game. Cloud9 had no answer for the hyper carries of compLexity, as the underdogs took back to back uncontested barons off of victorious fights. Eventually, the gold lead was too great, and Cloud9 crumbled under the weight of Tristana and Yasuo. LMQ vs Team SoloMid A slow early game led to an explosive finish as TSM and LMQ clashed. While TSM took first blood on a solid bottom lane gank, LMQ returned fire with a catch onto Gleeb, a free dragon, and a full team rotation to pick up a kill on Bjergsen. From there, TSM seemed to take over the game, turning multiple LMQ engagements into 2-0 and 2-1 wins. However, the late game terror of Tristana and Yasuo was not to be denied. As soon as both champions hit their key item thresholds, TSM could no longer secure any kills to open up fight opportunities. Already down, Mor's Thresh put the nail in TSM's coffin, landing incredible Death Sentence's and Flays on anyone who wandered into range. With an insurmountable advantage, LMQ broke through TSM's base, aced their foes, and took the win. Curse vs compLexity With exceptional play from Westrice on Lee Sin, the game seemed to be well in hand for compLexity after the mid game. However, Curse had no interest in leaving the week without a win. Rallying with a few catches onto Westrice, Curse took over the game, but compLexity remained unshaken. Towers, dragons, and kills flew back and forth for over an hour as each team looked for that critical mistake that would end the game. Finally, compLexity's rookie impatience caused them to force their way into Curse's base while their initiators and carry were still alive. After an impressive defense, Quas teleported directly into compLexity's base as his team chased down their bewildered opponents. With the power of Jax, Curse took the win in one of the most incredible game ending pushes of the year.

BIGGEST SURPRISE

Rookies With The Big Plays Between Altec's fountain pentakill and compLexity's incredible synergy, the LCS rookies took over this week's highlight reel. Between Robertxlee's Tristana, Westrice's Shyana, Prolly's Yasuo, compLexity gave fans a taste of just how far this young roster can go the longer they remain in the LCS. For the Evil Geniuses, Altec has been a breath of fresh air in the bottom lane. Krepo has returned to his Season 2 form, landing skill shots and taking over team fights while Pobelter and Innox have benefited from the relieved pressure on their lanes. With Super Week upon us, these rapidly improving young stars will have an opportunity to make their mark on the history of the LCS, and set their teams up for a storied playoff push.

Biggest Disappointment

Quas in Chains After a heroic victory against compLexity, fans of Curse might be feeling a small bit of hope that the struggling team will let loose their top lane carry in Super Week. However, the team has shown a fear of letting their top laner loose throughout the 2014 season. In their first game this week, Curse picked Tristana, the most late game of late game carries, but left their top laner to meander through the game on Renekton, a champion noted for his intense power drop in the late game. In their loss to EG, Jax went unbanned, but still Curse refused to set Quas free. Quas's incredible performance against Complexity left a bitter taste of "what could have been" had the team only made the same decision the day before. Curse signed the South American darling for his varied champion pool, including versatile picks like Karthus and Swain. At the bottom of the standings, it is time for Curse to go for broke - free Quas, and let him carry the team out of darkness and into the playoffs.

Hahaha, "free Quas, and let him carry the team out of darkness and into the playoffs." This is not only funny but true, Curse always has Quas on the same picks, the Meta is not the only way to play this game....

My god the LCS is so much more enjoyable to watch without a Nidalee in every game. So tired of seeing her. Made the most boring matches. Land a spear? Get an objective. Miss? Wait 5 seconds and throw another.

Anyone else notice it says the standings were shaken up at the start of the article?? I'm pretty sure the standings are exactly the same this week as last. Other than that good article though.
