There needs to be a tighter regulation of rosters.

Currently, Team Liquid, Apex, and C9 have sister teams in the Challenger scene. While I have absolutely no problem with that, they also list a majority of their main roster as subs for their Challenger teams while also having some Challenger players listed as subs for the main team. Rosters should be finalized before the season starts so teams can't just throw players across 2 teams. Players shouldn't even be able to be placed on the rosters of 2 separate teams.

Also, 2144 has TWO teams in the Chinese LSPL (the equivalent of the Challenger scene in NA and EU). How did that even happen? I understand that there are worries about match-fixing with sister teams, and if those teams are in different leagues, those problems effectively disappear which is why (I'm guessing) Riot has overlooked the existence of sister teams in the Challenger scene. But 2144 has two teams in the same league. If Riot is going to allow that, I'd rather they just allow the whole sister team system to come back. That way, organizations with excess fund can field more teams, and we'll have more competitive teams for better games. Imagine if SKT could field 2 whole teams again. Even if we still stay in the era of total SKT domination, at least they'll have someone to make them break a sweat. And also, if we have sister teams reinstated, we don't have organizations that CAN field 2 teams abusing loopholes in order to farm professional seeds for money while also keeping large rosters. We won't have players dubiously placed on the rosters of 2 teams since both teams will be playing at the same time.

I'll admit that I'm biased towards the reinstatement of sister teams, I honestly enjoyed OGN's tournament format much more than the current league system, while also enjoying their Master's team league much more than the current league system.

Every player should be committed to a single roster for a whole season. If they want to leave a team that is fine (if they work it out with the organization), but they shouldn't be allowed to be placed on another roster until the next season. Imagine if TL's chances of making playoffs goes to hell halfway through the season. They could just shift their players to the Challenger team and have them win the next LCS seed and sell the spot so that their players will at least be doing something productive (and don't tell me that nobody does that, because we already know some organizations already do this shit). And also, no organization should own sister teams in the same league, even if it's in the Challenger league. If we're going to keep enforcing this rule, we might as well be consistent with it and our reasons for enforcing it.

I mean, there's no rule that we can only have 2 leagues is there?

  1. LCS - the pro league
  2. CS - the league for teams trying to break into the LCS
  3. MLCS - the minor league teams for LCS teams used for training and recruiting players. Also would be the reserve spot so teams can alternate their players and have a legit backup for each role on their main squad.

And we, the fans, get another league to follow and watch. This is all in addition to the colligate leagues.

Part of me thinks the only purpose of the c9 challenger squad is to get into LCS so that the spot can be sold for a profit.

I have to agree with this. Even Eve Online doesn't allow a player to participate on more than one team for Alliance Tournament.
