TL;DR: The winners of the 2016 LCS Summer Split awards will be announced this month, starting with the North American and European All-LCS Teams on Wednesday, August 10 on PrimeTime League.

The 2016 LCS Summer Split regular season is all wrapped up! Now it’s time to honor the LCS pros and coaches who displayed superior teamwork, mastery, and strategy this Summer. Here’s a quick recap of the awards and when you can find out who wins.

What are the awards and how are the winners chosen?

There are four awards up for grab. In June, we confirmed the methodology behind the Summer Split awards. Those awards are: All-LCS Team, Coach of the Split, Rookie of the Split, and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.

The North American and European All-LCS team is made of the best pro players by position from their respective regions.

When will the awards be announced?

  • All-LCS Team: August 10 on PrimeTime League (PTL)
  • Coach: August 17 on PTL
  • Rookie: August 24 on PTL
  • MVP: August 27-28 during LCS Summer Finals weekend

Who votes on the awards?

As we announced in June, the awards will be voted on by LCS broadcast team, 3rd party media, and pro teams.

We’ve made a split update on the voting panels:

  • For North America, the 3rd Party Media category will include journalists as well as 3rd party analysts.
  • In Europe, the 3rd Party Media category will also include independent analysts along with foreign language Broadcast partners.

When will ballots and the full awards panel become available?

After each award is presented, panelist ballots will be released within 24 hours on Lolesports.

The full voting panel will be shared after the first award is presented on August 10. All panelists who agreed to participate but fail to submit votes will be listed as “declined to vote.”

For NA: All-LCS Team would be Huni (IMT), Reignover (IMT), Bjergsen (TSM), Doublelift (TSM), Biofrost (TSM) (cuz they performed on a high level for most of the season) Coach would be Parth (TSM) (Cuz he is TSM's coach) Rookie would be Biofrost (TSM) (no doubt since he was a part of the best team in NA this split and helped Doublelift be his normal self again) MVP if chosen through the POGs would no doubt be Bjergsen (TSM). (The guy played some seriously great games and probably deserves it)

For EU: All-LCS Team would be Wunder (Splyce), Trick (G2), Perkz (G2), Kobbe (Splyce), and Mikyx (Splyce) (same reason as NA team above) Coach would be no doubt the man with lots of suave, YamatoCannon (Splyce) (how he has been coaching his team is definitely worth mentioning, 2nd place finish is just icing on the cake) Rookie would be Night (Giants) (the guy showed immense talent and helped a seemingly hopeless squad to a 3rd place finish. I would also give mentions to his teammate Sonstar as well as Mikyx on Splyce as well.) MVP if also chosen through POG system would be Trick (G2). (Once again showed his prowess in the jungle isn't to be underestimated. Allowing his team to finish 1st place two splits in a row.)

I'm not very educated on how EU has performed holistically this split, so here are my thoughts just on North America.

All-LCS Team: Hauntzer (TSM), Reignover (IMT), Bjergsen (TSM), Doublelift (TSM), Biofrost (TSM) I neglect to include Huni as I believe he's had a worse split compared to last split and Hauntzer's overall performance and consistency. While Svenskeren has greatly improved this split and despite Immortals' inconsistency, Reignover still proves to be one of the most commanding and analytical jungles in the West.

Coach: Reapered (or Weldon if he is considered) Reapered seems to have brought in considerable benefits to the Cloud9 organization as a whole. Despite finishing third place with the same record (12-6), overall it seems like Reapered has had the most impact of any coach on an org.

Rooke of the Split: Biofrost (TSM) This really doesn't need much of an explanation. Biofrost has displayed proficiency to an extent than even veterans failed to reach this split.

MVP: Bjergsen (TSM), though likely to be Doublelift (TSM) TSM as a whole has worked as a cohesive, devastating force that has strengths in each of its five positions. Despite that, and somewhat true to the name, a lot of TSM's success seems funneled through or branching from the mid lane. Bjergsen has exacted devastation a majority of his games this split and enabled TSM's victories by his own proficiency and champion pool. Doublelift is a very, very close contender for this award (and will likely get it because storylines), but I have to give it to Bjergsen.

I see TSM claiming most of these awards. MVP- Bjergsen, Rookie- Biofrost, and coach too.

Maybe coach Reapered? Helped C9 communicate on a whole different level. Without hai, considering the fact that they were starved without hai.
