Thought on how to create a better LCS

So I always enjoy the LCS, and I enjoy watching teams duking it out in playoffs for spots in worlds. So it got me thinking about the spring split being pretty useless in the long run, aside from deciding all-star teams this year.

I don't want to see the LCS turn into OGN with a weird circuit points thing, so I want to throw an idea closer to regular, long standing sports.

Here is my model for LCS, let me know thoughts.

12 teams start in Spring and compete through until worlds.

6 games vs. each team (spread over two splits) Allstar break mid-season, with team leading standings going, or fan vote or however all-stars is deemed to be chosen. End of second split, top 6 teams compete in playoffs, same format as current. Top 3 go to worlds.

Now for relegation's I'm a little finicky on details, but here is the idea.
After worlds, the bottom six teams compete in a playoff, top three stay in LCS. Bottom three play top three challengers, same as normal, top 3 go into next years LCS.

What this model does is make every game throughout the year matter, it keeps the same amount of regular season games (66), and requires teams to play well for an entire year because a poor spring split can affect playoff rankings.

Thoughts?

I agree, spring split should mean more. This might be a good idea, depending on if Riot is willing to sponsor 12 teams at a time. Maybe a break halfway in with a tournament to decide All-Stars. The only issue I see is that we really have no means of bringing new blood into the LCS mid-season, always having to wait for worlds. That's a long time for the challenger scene, and additionally we have to consider that really the best teams in LCS NA joined during mid-season relegations, C9 in season 3 and LMQ in season 4. It makes me feel like we have to keep the mid-season relegation alive, but keeping the standings means a harder road for teams coming in mid-season, which isn't fair because of teams like LMQ and C9 coming in and dominating.

Having 12 teams could theoretically mitigate that, but I have concern for it creating stagnation. With new blood only coming in at the beginning of the season, it can make teams comfortable playing against each other, and historically LCS NA has been shaken the most by getting promising new teams in to challenge the old guard.

The loss of the mid-season relegation is really the only issue I see.

If they could implement a system like the Premiere League in soccer, if you end up in the bottom... you're out, that would make it more high stakes for the bottom tier teams at the end of the season.

I personally think this is a great idea, but like ArmySquirrel said, if there's no mid season relegation it's going to take a long time for Challenger teams to have a shot at being in the Lcs. I also think that instead of 12 teams like you said, there should be maybe 10. 10 feels like a good number to me. the long lasting teams get to have more sponserships. I also remember Kelby from CLG saying in a vlog that the Chalenger scene will work as draft system where the teams draft players instead of whole teams getting into the LCS.
