NA LCS Week 2 Preview

The 2014 NA LCS summer split kicked off with an exciting Super Week of games. Newcomers LMQ rose to the top with a 4-0 sweep of the competition, while the old pros like Team SoloMid and Team Dignitas are right on their tails with matching 3-1 win records. Starting on May 31, the LCS teams will be back in the studio for another week of epic games. Here’s what to watch out for. Counter Logic Gaming vs. compLexity When: Saturday, May 31, 12:00PM PDT / 3:00PM EST Week 2 marks the return of LCS veteran Zachary "Mancloud" Allan Hoschar, former mid laner of XDG Gaming, who will be substituting for Neil "Pr0lly" Hammad of compLexity. Mancloud was one of the best AP mid laners in the region for a time, but struggled during XDG’s disastrous Spring Split. CompLexity had an incredibly tough Super Week, going against top teams such as TSM, C9, and LMQ, finishing with a 1-3 win record. Their toughest competition this week will be CLG, where Mancloud will show off what he’s learned during his time off. CLG on the other hand, went even last week with a 2-2 win record. Despite bringing Shin "Seraph" Wooyeong on board as the new top laner, CLG was unable to take down big-timers LMQ and C9. However, CLG is still a force to be reckoned with, as even in their losses, they demonstrated that they have some of the best mid-game rotations and late-game team fights. Team Dignitas vs. Team Solo Mid When: Sunday, June 1, 12:00PM PDT / 3:00PM EST Coming into Super Week, many questioned the fate of Dignitas; replacing two solo laners with Team Coast's superstars did not necessarily equate success. But in the end, the change paid off as Dignitas went 3-1, once again taking down C9 at the start of the split. However, there were some shaky moments in Dignitas's game plans, echoing back to former splits when Dignitas would often throw seemingly won games with poor late-game decisions. Like Dignitas, TSM sits near the top of the bracket with a 3-1 win record. Though they were bested by rivals C9 in the opening match, TSM bounced back and won their games against Team Curse, compLexity, and Evil Geniuses. Things are looking good with new additions Maurice "Amazing" Stuckenschneider and Nicolas "Gleebglarbu" Haddad, but will the team hold up against stronger teams like Dignitas and CLG? We’ll find out. LMQ vs. Cloud9 When: Sunday, June 1, 12:00PM PDT / 3:00PM EST C9 uncharacteristically sits in the middle of the LCS pack with an unexpected 2-2 win record, having lost to both Dignitas and compLexity during Super Week. This is the first time in a long time that C9 has not finished a week at the top of the LCS. But the two-time regional champions have proven time and again that they are more than capable of making a comeback. And who better to demonstrate this to than rising stars LMQ? C9 will need to tighten up their gameplay against LMQ if they want to return to the number one spot and defend their title. On the other side of the Rift, LMQ is absolutely on fire, having exploded onto the scene with a commanding 4-0 win record. That success may have been a product of a slightly easier schedule, however, as the only top-tier squad they faced was CLG. It's up in the air how LMQ will fare against Dignitas and C9, but LMQ is already looking like one of the strongest teams in the summer split.

By the end of the split: C9>CLG>LMQ>TSM>DIG>the rest of them.

Also, "However, CLG is still a force to be reckoned with, as even in their losses, they demonstrated that they have some of the best mid-game rotations and late-game team fights. "

How did this get through editing? CLG flopped in the mid/late game against LMQ. That is precisely why that game was so interesting. CLG opened a pretty big lead on LMQ, and it took not one, but two Baron throws for LMQ to take the game.

Gotta say, this split has been so far amazing. My predictions... 1. Cloud 9 2. CLG 3. Dignitas 4. TSM 5. LMQ 6. EG 7. CRS 8. Complexity

1:C9 2:DIG 3:LMQ 4:CLG 5:TSM 6:CRS 7:EG 8:COM

It comes down to team fights and overall communication.

It pains me to see TSM so low in my predicitions. But if they STOP PLAYING with utility mid's and weird things like LULU TOP, and get Wild turtle and Gleeb to start working better together. I believe they can crack the top 4.

TSM just doesn't look right with the new lineup. I think Reginald made a mistake, we need a better jungler especially.
