2016 Worlds has very few seats...

Compared to 2014 Worlds where they had like 40k or so seats available in finals. Why would riot deliberately decrease the amount of people who can participate this year when there are 27mil daily active league accounts and an average of 25-36mil viewers who watched worlds. Along with the fact with it being hosted in California twice, completely ignoring the south and canada and barely pleasing chicago with 3.8k seats for the entire midwest and even the occasional international fans that want to see worlds. I'll even admit that last year's worlds didn't even seem a fraction as hyped as the one hosted in Seoul. Sure the crowd was responsive but it didn't give off the vibes that Seoul did. I can only assume that they had problems booking other stadiums or they honestly just really wanted these precise stadiums. As much as I would like to see world's this year it seems almost impossible except for a selective few.

I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are!

What do you mean cry? This is a legitimate question.

I too am very disappointed in the venue selected for their first trip to the Mid-West. Chicago is a great location. Being the first time that they are coming this way there are plenty of people like me that would love the chance to see LCS Live and can't get to California... I would have liked to see a much larger venue and am 100% sure that it would be filled.

hey dont cry. i was 100% sure worlds will be in china this year because china never had worlds in their country.

because they know with the current state of the game nobody will want to watch it anymore till the end of the season...

yeah lol like why put two in california and completely neglect texas to tennesse and everyone south of that because driving to any event from down south will be a good 13+ hours and then they already hosted an event last year at MSG why there again? Then there's the problem with Chicago and the 3,800 seats. It just doesn't add up why or how riot thought this through. It's almost as if they're planning multiple LCS tournaments that we see every week than a World's tournament.

Honestly NA's culture is much more different in regards to video games as other countries. Even the owner when interviewed, said that the US has a bad e sport ecosystem, at least in comparison to other regions around the world. I think it is plain old marketing, and mainly the reason why there have been worlds in other regions. Really they have no incentive in my opinion to hold worlds at the USA, they would do much better in South Korea, Europe, and China if they could get past the political tension there that I am presuming exists. The seats are less because they want to make sure the event will look sold out, as they are not sure a huge venue would sell. I think it is apparent that gaming is not really accepted as an acceptable activity compared to other cultures in the world.
