I am ashamed of our region (huge rant)

Man watching NA at worlds so many years only to see our region become more and more like a wildcard region is a joke.

All these Koreans and EU players they pay big money for to get to come to our region don’t even bring competition. Instead!!!! They just become worse players.

Our region has a handicap sticker all over it. Just to explain.. I have realized I am an all around terrible player at the game micro, macro, anything mechanically but if I have time to play solo queue all the time in top lane I will eventually get paired up with enough people that have a much higher skill gap than other players I will just get carried to next rank. The games are a landslide on either side. Either you win big or you get destroyed.

Last year I peaked at diamond 5 feeding my butt off. Not to mention players like hashinshin literally feed all the time but he plays more than me so he is a higher rank. Matchmaking is a joke that literally just depends on how much time you have to queue and does not have anything to do with you actually improving as a player.

Not to mention best of 5s were great for NA if solo queue can’t be a good training tool at least bo5 could be competitive but riot gave up on that because not enough viewers. So now we are at it again with the best of 1s and look at NA at worlds they are clueless on how to draft. Without the bo5s they have no idea how to answer drafts at all. Not to mention they make zero adjustments between days to their game strategy they just keep playing same things hoping for mechanics to win the games.

NA is just terrible to watch right now and I have stopped watching lcs because streamers games seem more competitive.

I hate watching worlds because it is an embarrassment to watch the NA teams. I get the vibe that the NA teams go to worlds to have a good time. Like it’s already in their minds that they lost and they do not play to win. TL is our only hope this year and that is looking grim. The skill gap variance between NA teams and the EU, KR, and China teams is massive every year. Last year gave me a little hope that this year would be different, but I was wrong.

This last game C9 was down 15k good at 20 minutes. Ugh.

Because in America we give 8th place participation trophy's but in other regions being anything but first is unacceptable and they actually allow trash talking. We don't have a competitive environment here because everyone is scared of offending someone.

C9 needs to get rid of repeared. Period.

i remember one eu player saying if he plans on retiring, he will move to na and play there for 1-2 years cause they pay so good and then he can just retire.

rip lol.

well the lcs mentality bites them in the ass now. the mentality of "lets buy all the players and if they dont perform well, throw them out and buy new ones". what happened to piglet btw?

The comment about Hashinshin says all there is to be said about you. If he got on and tried as hard as he could everyday with stream delay, he'd just be challenger. He knows how to play the game, he just plays for fun and goes aggro. Please don't try to speak for the region when you have no clue what you're talking about.

Akali Prime10/18/2019, 4:06:34 PM6 votes

shiiiiiiid i wish this was true for me. i play everyday sometimes all day if im off work. and i do constantly well 9/10 of my games and still hardstuck silver 4 literally been s4 all season.

Vlada Cut10/18/2019, 7:05:57 PM4 votes

Yes, you're ashamed of your region because NA fucking sucks compared to European and Korean teams and servers.

What a troll post and wate of time to read.

CLUTCH GAMING WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SHOT CALL AT THE END????????????

Literally smiling after they gave away that game. Are you fuckin kidding?

Idk why do you even point solo q, if ur ranting about EU being better than NA in competitive. Solo q has nothing to do with competitive. Typical example is TF Blade , who reach rank 1 in 2 weeks with outstanding winrate. Other examples are Hyli , forg1venGRE and Jankos, they started their careers in EUNE. Ur region just cant be better in every game , pc game just get over it. If im not wrong NA is better than EU in CS GO, should I rant about my region being bad at CS GO?

Clutch Gaming will come through! Keep the faith!

They should demote NA to wildcard region.

Morticianjohn10/18/2019, 5:02:49 PM2 votes

We knew coming in that TL was the only good team. C9 just got overhyped because they made semi finals last year. I am actually happy that clutch did well during play ins because I was worried they wouldn't make it out they are so volatile.

I absolutely agree, thank you for sharing this.

Azca3310/18/2019, 2:56:52 PM2 votes

There is 0 reason for C9 to even play the last two games. They put themselves in a massive disadvantage by playing blabber for two losses. Now they can’t even recover if they win the next two games, which is unlikely anyways.

TL take my energy as C9 and Clutch have been embarrassing to watch.

Well Zeyzal is a better hooker than Mickey.

NA. We're #1 in hookers.

I am not from NA, but as far as I know, NA is a very, very small region playercount-wise. Also, it might have further shrank in latest years.

I actually think that NA is somewhat holding a decent performance compared to much bigger regions like EU, KR, China.

" Im ashamed because we lost and I can't do any better."

Dameshi10/18/2019, 8:54:25 PM2 votes

I think people are sleeping a bit on Liquid. Even in some interviews of players within NA, they made it clear that TL is the best team in our region and it's not close. They beat IG at MSI, they took down Damwon who a lot of analysts had sitting easily at the top of the group. We may have a little ways to go as a region still, but I have full faith TL will make NA proud. Let's give them our support, GO TL!

The King Diamond10/19/2019, 2:17:42 PM2 votes

All of you have been saying NA>EU. Always. Good joke guys.

SammyDayspring10/21/2019, 2:56:47 AM1 votes

The whole game has become an embarrassment. It is all about high damage and yolo play. Riot has destroyed the concept by undermining its core strategic game play. N/A is the worst major region because they don't even bother. The team comp choices and coaching decisions show that. It has become a very boring game to watch.

tunehunter10/18/2019, 10:29:48 PM1 votes

I hate to say it BUT, I actually found the first 3 C9 games to be some of the most fun to watch of the tournament so far. The 2 they lost with blabber early on I felt were close games that they just struggled to end on and I felt that was more from the lack of traditional marksman in the bot lane so they didnt really scale into the mid game, or a couple miss played sad decisions. I felt it was tragic, but all-in-all I thought they were fun games to watch. You win some you lose some and I am ok with that, but the point was I felt they were GAMES. It wasnt decided before the game, they werent inconsequential. They were and are close, a couple things go just a little different and those games are won.

Edit: as far as NA performance in 'sports' in general I think it should be noted that NA as a culture often times has a strong emphasis on the individual. We celebrate individuals and push individuals to be the best they themselves can be. It has very little emphasis on group and teamwork. These things EXIST, but it is not as emphasised in our culture as it is in other countries. This is why you can find extraordinary individuals in just about everything in North America, from doctors to lawyers to athletes to businessmen, but you will have harder times finding extraordinary groups, unless these groups are filled with these extraordinary individuals. Again that is not to say as a culture we arent taught to value groups and teamwork, it is just a lesser emphasis by comparison to self improvement and being the best individual and competing against other individuals. It is more of a competitive culture than a cooperative one.
