Alliance's rollercoaster season reached a high point during super week when the team picked up a perfect 4-0 record. Now the individuals that make up the most talked about team in the European LCS will be looking to make an appearance on the All Star team.
The voting for All Stars couldn't have come at a better time for Wickd. The Dane had a monstrous Super Week, playing a pivotal role in his team's 4-0 record. Before that he had come into for a lot of criticism as part of an under-performing "super team," but he definitely put himself back in contention for the title of best top laner. It would mean so much to Wickd, as well, after missing out last year. After an extremely close vote between him and sOAZ, the pair streamed a 1v1 duel to decide who would join the All Star team. Wickd lost, but this year his claim for being voted in is arguably stronger than ever as sOAZ and Fnatic continue to struggle with consistency. Of course, being a popular figure on a well-known team can't hurt his chances, but now he can argue that he deserves a place on merit alone.
The European LCS is famed for its multitude of big name mid lane players. Between Froggen, Alex Ich and xPeke it's really anyone's guess who is the most popular player in the region and when you turn the argument to who is the most skilful, list gets even longer. Froggen has always been near the top of both and may benefit from a growing popularitythanks to his appearance on the IEM stream. Last year's representative, Alex Ich, is Froggen's main rival for the mid lane role but Alliance's recent form might help to tip the scales in the Dane's favour.
Shook was heralded by many at the start of this LCS season as one of the best jungler's in Europe, but Alliance struggled in the early weeks. Shook's individual stats pale in comparison to some other junglers, but, his synergy with Froggen in particular has helped Alliance pull through a rough patch and seemingly out the other side. Shook might not be the flashiest play-making jungler in Europe, but he goes a long way to making his team mates look great.
Despite sitting on below-average KDA for the season as a whole, the young Dutchman almost doubled it over the course of super week with an impressive 8.6 across four games. Tabbz has shown that when he plays well his team tends to play well and it would be a huge boon for the European team if that trend carried over into All-Stars.
