My Top 5 Power Ranking NA LCS

This is what I think the Top 5 Team Rankings will look like at the end of the split for the NA LCS Summer Split 2017. I will also provide my reasoning for where each team is placed.

  1. TSM (I think that TSM will end up in first place at the end of the split but how they get there is what I am uncertain about. One of the key points that I know we will hear about and see is that Doublelift is coming back. This is big because for a lot of people, he is the best ADC in North America,(I still think that it is Arrow but I love Peter and how he plays the game). Another point about Peter coming back to the team is that he will be sharing that spot with Wildturtle. I think we could see a few outcomes on this matter, 1. We will see either one come out for the whole series, 2. We could see subbing in the middle of the series e.g. Impact/Ray, We see that Peter takes full control of the role and he plays through most of the split. But getting back to the team as a whole, their first 4 matches are against C9, IMT, DIG, CLG. It will be important to see them win against C9 as those two teams are always neck and neck especially as of late. I think that looking at all the other NA teams they really stand out for their excellency in every role. I don't think we will see the cold start we saw in the Spring Split as Bio and DL already have experience playing together.

  2. Cloud 9 (Following their rocky split in the spring, I am placing Cloud 9 at Second Place. In the spring split C9 had one of the team's best starts in years going (8-0) before facing a loss. I think a lot of this can be credited to the synergy in all lanes, but the pairing of Contractz and Jensen is in my opinion the best. The bond and coordination between a team's midlaner and a team's jungler is like the one between a team's ADC and Support. There were numerous games where Contractz would constantly gank the mid lane resulting in both Jensen and Contractz going on rampages. Now that they have had a split and a break to adapt and play with each other I think they will do as they did in the Spring Split by placing Second. I'd also bring up the topic of Impact and Ray in the top lane. The two are amazing at what they do. Just watch the "Duo: An LCS Series" on the LoL Esports youtube page (Link will be at the end), the two know each other well and there is a respect between the two which only strengthens the bond between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw TSM-C9 for the finals, which in case you forgot that would be the third finals in a row containing the two facing off against each other.

  3. FlyQuest (Coming out of their mediocre spring split, I am going to be putting FlyQuest at 3rd Place. I think the only reason that FlyQuest really struggled in the Spring Split was because for some of the players it was the first time they had played in a LAN competition in a while, I know most of them were former members of C9's main LCS lineup but I know that they then went to C9's Challenger Lineup. I think that you could really see that they were ready to play get back to being considered the best after they pulled off that reverse sweep against CLG in the quarter finals. I think Hai is still one of the best shot callers in all of North America, I think that LemonNation's notebook is an important part because it contains their plans and I think that it is safe to say that he understands how to play around certain players, team drafts, etc. I think it makes him a very versatile support for not only his knowledge of the game, but his knowledge of his opponents and their weaknesses. Moon is a new face to the LCS scene, even though he played a bit for Liquid in the start of the 2016 Summer Split, I think he shows potential but when put up to the likes of the other rookie Contractz, he is no match but as I said before he provides a fresh spin on a role where you only see a few champs being played(I mean he pulled out the Shaco vs TSM, the man has Balls, see what I did there he he). It's for these reasons that I place FlyQuest in 3rd Place.

  4. CLG (After getting reverse swept by FlyQuest in the quarter finals I think CLG had to make some moves in their lineup, and go into the summer split with a different mentality. In the off time during MSI, Xmithie left CLG joining Immortals, following that they acquired Dardoch who was formerly of Immortals. I think Dardoch is a good pick up for CLG, he has proven that he is worthy of being one of the better junglers in North America, it's also worth mentioning that the pick up happened at a good point in the break so that he has time to practice with the team and to get comfortable with them, CLG is known for having a very warm atmosphere when it comes to welcoming people to the team. Aphromoo is by far the all star player, he sticks out amongst everyone else on the team, he has been on the team the longest and he was there for all the good parts and all the bad parts but I think he knows what he and the team have to do to make more out of the split and to hopefully make play offs, last year at Worlds CLG put out a decent performance but like all the other NA teams at Worlds 2016 they fell. Huhi has to figure out what he is doing in the mid lane. It's for these reasons I'm placing CLG in 4th Place.

  5. Phoenix1(Having a breakout split in the Spring, P1 falls into the 5th spot for my Power Rankings. There is almost nothing that I can really say that is bad about P1. Arrow is going to give Doublelift a run for his money as he was the MVP for the Spring Split and I think he really deserved it. If anyone had him on their FantasyLCS team, it was a free win. Ryu has had a lot of experience under his belt, I mean he played in the LCK with KT, he played in the EU LCS with H2K. I think his experience over in other regions helped him out. I don't know how I could forget about Meteos who no C9 fan will be able to forgive for turning to the dark side. I kid, even though his performance at Worlds 2016 was everything but good, I still think he is one of better junglers in NA, I would put him next to Moon. He can still pull off clean plays and can still get the team the win when it counts. It's for these reasons that I am putting P1 at number 5.

Ridiculously early to be doing stuff like this, mostly due to the fact that the rosters haven't been finalized yet. To add onto and potentially "mess up" your ideas though:

-Freeze has been linked to potentially joining Flyquest, coming off of tempo storm who signed selfie to "replace/coach" haatrix and LS (yes, the caster guy) as their actual coach -Stunt left P1 for IMT, and there are a few things going around suggesting Meteos is being offered deals from multiple teams right now. -CLG might not be done roster shuffles as there's a few reports going around that they might try to attempt the 10-man roster dealey-o that apex tried doing last year -according to the same articles I read concerning the CLG situation, one of ray/impact might be traded before the rosters come out as well

I'm not the best at keeping up with current up2date rosters etc, nor am I a profit like " Crumbz" or anything, so I will most likely be 100% wrong like always but here are my predictions on the standings as of right meow.

10th Team Envyus At times can be good and we've seen it from them but since joining the LCS they've just been falling down the standings and looking at their current roster( Seraph- Gets pwnd like 70% of the time at top, Lira is good but can't 1v5, Hakuho has to be the worst support as far as being a SUPPORT, sure he can do lots of damage but each split he's dead last in wards placed, Apollo- I'm done thinking this guy has a ceiling when 1-2 years ago he already reached it and it's not even close to the other ADCs' that he's up against. One of the lowest kills ADC players and CS is ok but when he's constantly in 40+ min games you kinda expect his CS to be high. Apollo is currently at around 59 give or take 40+min games in his 169 Games with 557 Kills 372 Deaths 944 Assists and 52,011 CS. This team isn't good at warding but they are decent at objectives and the control of those objectives but with 0 vision from ward placing, they do however like I said do tend to destroy the enemies wards tho.

9th Immortals

  • Superstar lineup, Superstar player, rebuilding.
This team looks to rebuild for the future with the recent signing of Xmithie which is good; but at the same time what other choice does this team have? Pobelter is always talked about his "potential" well it's been like 5 years and yet he's only a "supportive mid player". He's never really winning games for his teams, and don't give me none of that "MVP" point thing, the casters, fans, etc only gave him those points because they were so SHOCKED that Pobelter actually did something in those games that he received those MVP votes.
Cody and Olleh were ok, but I honestly expected more from them mainly Olleh honestly, however Cody was a rookie and should be much better this split with a more "passive team" with Dardoch the villain it seems in the LCS is gone.
Overall this team should be better and be more friendly but I don't see this team doing all much this split.

8th Team Liquid It takes the coach, owner etc like 7 weeks into a split to realize " wow, this team sucks, better do something".
Meh coaching, meh players just meh. Lourlo needs to be more impressive and he has been improving each split but needs to take bigger steps instead of these baby steps. Reignover was a huge disappointment. Matt still dies like 4 times per game it seems so nothing has changed from him it seems.
Piglet has gone from a top tier ADC back in Spring 2015 to a meh player. 5 splits and the only play anyone remembers him is his Corki play, oh and his Rammus pick and numerous videos with Dardoch etc. He's been in the NA LCS scene for 5 splits and it's been getting worse as his career as gone on. Now entering his 6 NA Split let's hope he can actually do something and NONE of this "Meta doesn't favor him, he doesn't play Passive champions BULL S$it Please!) His first two champions in Mid were Ryze and Ezreal or something so for a guy that doesn't play "passive" he/coach one of the two or both, seems to not now the "passive" from the aggressive champions.
The other story from this team is the ! Return of.......... GG MAN GOLDENGLUE!!!!!
He has returned to us from his Korea adventures of?????? haven't seen 1 video from this guy, to be fair I forgot he was still around. It's going on like 7 years or something and he's still the same GG MAN, loses, does nothing all game, GG.

7th Echo Fox Looper whatever first NA split. Akaadian gets hundreds of kills with the flip side of dying himself hundreds of times. Froggen still only farms, Gate is still bad and Keith is pretty much Wildturtle 2.0 as far as bad positioning. I'v said this before and I'll say it again; this team is like Willy Coyote; they think of these great plays but whenever they try to do the plays it fails horribly. Froggen/Echo Fox are like the Dallas Mavericks mainly Froggen himself where he had his time in the spotlight ( 2014 Summer Split with Alliance/2011 NBA Playoffs for Dirk) but since for both Froggen and Dirk they've faded back down to where they first started.

6th FlyQuest I like Hai's shot calling............ and um.. Balls' Rumble ? That's really about it, nice reverse sweep against CLG...... that's uh about it for me.
They admitted they had really bad decisions as far as pick ban goes with bring out their "surprise" picks out too soon and it showed, the cheese was great at the start but soon got stinky as the split continued.
I think they are replacing Altec with Freeze but not sure, but I do like that change if they do tend to replace Altec as I personally think Altec plays too safe at times for the cost of his KDA and loses games from it. You also gotta ask yourself " How much longer will Hai be in the LCS for" he seems like a guy that will leave in a moments notice and whenever he leaves I pretty sure Balls and Lemon will leave and NA doesn't have the best NORTH AMERICAN players that are "good" so possibly Korean players will be in that lineup next year.
- Saying it now, Madlife/Fenix will be on FQ next year. Just my early New Year's resolution or prediction or whatever.

...................................... 5th - 1st will be shorter because I'm tired

5th Phoenix One Not placing this team too high because I feel like last split was really just "luck" Meteos coming in and giving them like 6 series wins or so when Inori just wasn't cutting it and Meteos is gone most likely, so it's back to Inori.
He's like 25 game wins and 29 game loses, which isn't bad but it's not that great in all honestly.

4th Dignitas Is Xpecial still on Dig? Yes? Oh god, well this team should be in hour long games. Seriously tho, whichever team Xpecial is on that team tends to be in average 40+ min games constantly. It also seems shorter the season the more 40+ min games he's in, 19 games 9+ 40+ games, 28 games only around 7-8 40+min games, 41+ games only around 12-13 40+min games.
He's also around 237 Games with 179 Kills 637 Deaths 2262 Assists and 7753 CS with 83+ games with 40+ min or higher game times. So long answer short, if DIG wins games they tend to be in less games right, so with that they will also be in longer games because of the Xpecial stat line with shorter amount of games = longer games. So if you cheer for team Dignitas be expecting year long games, which I personally don't mind if I'm being honest.

3rd Team Solomid Ever since they trained for a full Split in the 2016 Summer and went to Worlds and got dunked I believe they still haven't nor will they ever recover from putting in HOURS and HOURS of work for pretty much a 9th place Worlds standings. Sure they can win NA all they want but at this point what does it matter if they do or don't win NA, they will still get dunked at any and all International event anyways. They've won NA like 5-6 or so times and resulted in nothing in 7-8 years so yeah cheers to TSM if they do win NA, at the end it means NOTHING.

2nd Counter Logic Gaming Last split I had CLG at #1 and well........... moving on. However with Dardoch if he can keep his babyrage inside and not act like a 5 year old this team should go places but it starts with Dardoch, any fan of Dardoch most likely should be a fan of every other team in the NA LCS as much as he jumps from team to team it seems for "better horizons". However when YOU leave a place/team etc and you keep leaving those certain teams because it's not working out it's most likely NOT those teams but instead YOU(Dardoch) connecting the dotes isn't that hard and hopefully CLG can also connect the dotes before it's too late and he puts CLG in the dumps like he did with TL and IMT with his outside of the game mentality.
Basically this team starts and end with Dardoch, if Aphromoo and the CLG bonding keeps Dardoch level headed I see this team going places, if not well at least we will have a Breaking point or whatever it was called Part 2.

1st Cloud 9 This team is like the fairy tail team where instead of getting say a slipper on the foot gently it's more so inserted in their face, or instead of slaying the great beast of a Dragon( TSM Snap Dragon!) they just get eaten OVER(2014 NA Finals) and OVER(2015 Spring Finals) and OVER(2016 Spring Playoffs) and OVER(2016 Summer Finals) and OVER(2017 Spring Finals) AGAIN. So tired of seeing TSM vs C9 where instead it's just TSM beating up on poor C9, and they have great splits each time they tend to face TSM and just dies and C9 are typically or normally up in each of their series with TSM and still lose against them.

I don't know like I said I'll most likely be 100% wrong but meh, predictions are free so there's mine. I understand it's only May 25th but I personally like doing predictions as far as the standings go so I know where teams are at in my thought process so it's easier to rank them back up once I see the finalized versions of the teams and their rosters.
