Can we please get higher resolution videos?

I understand it's work to prepare and upload videos of each resolution and the higher resolutions take significantly more time; but 1080p has been the standard for TVs and 16:9 monitors for many years now.

Personally I've been using 2560x1440 for many years. That's precisely 4 times 720p, and having a low bitrate 720p video stretched out to 4 times its original size is rather irritating when watching eSports. Sometimes it's even hard to see what's going on.

It's an inevitable change, but the sooner you guys offer 1080p/1440p/4K videos the sooner a wider audience will start watching. Personally I didn't watch many OGN matches in the past due to the ridiculously low resolution videos they offered to non-subscribers and the same went for pretty much anyone I asked.

Is there any work currently being done towards this or any tentative time line to speak of?

Up to 4K videos would be ideal, it won't be too long before a lot of users have 4K monitors.

To me it looks like the LCS stream is crisper than the vods, which makes me sad considering I almost never can watch my favorite teams live :(

Screw the 1080p, I'd happily take 720p if I could stream it WITHOUT buffering. Or at least download the whole thing first. :/

Don't buy higher resolution then your eyes can see.

"please upgrade your media because I'm a rich individual who paid moneyz and wants people to know I can't watch mah streamz the way my moneyz where supposed to make me watch them"

Face it buddy, they are optimized for the overwhelmingly vast majority of us consumers who want to have a good experience. Not everyone has internet connection powerfull enough to handle this amount of streaming content, stably and without buffering or whatnot. Not everyone has fullHD LED monitors hooked on their computers, not everyone has 28+ inches worth of hardware to watch content on. Us average consumers seek value-for-money, so we want to watch content that doesn't bottleneck our mediocre bandwith on screens that don't cost a month's salary.

Not to mention production in such a scale costs lots of money, which could be spend on the game instead of freaking videos. You're playing a MOBA for crying out loud, what kind of cinematic experience is the 720p ruining?

Also, watching it live is the best idea when it comes to streams. There are sites that can accommodate your needs I'm sure. Also, nobody's making you watch videos at full screen. Also, I really do wonder how "wide" this audience is that refuses to watch content for anything other than 4k and 1080p. And if there's actual audience with such a "severe" issue, I'd kindly request them to take a hike, we don't need that kind of people here.

Last but not least, a kind reminder. It's practicaly impossible to watch something in it's original resolution simply because it gets compressed and/or reformatted to ease post-production and streaming.
