2017 NA Scouting Grounds
Are you ready to be an NA LCS pro?
A new split champion will be crowned in Boston at Summer Finals as one team cements their legacy in the NA LCS. Although 2017 has come to a close, high-level players have the chance to start creating their own story as the NA Scouting Grounds returns to the LCS studio in Los Angeles. With the chance to hone your skills and compete in a mini-tournament aimed at showcasing your abilities to LCS organizations on the big stage, this could be the beginning of your path to pro.
We’ll take a snapshot of the NA solo queue ranked ladder on October 30, and the top four highest-ranked players from each role (Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot, Support) who meet the criteria below are invited to attend. You’ll join us at the NA LCS Studio to be drafted onto an event team by current NA LCS pros and coaches. You’ll then have a few days to train and practice before competing against the other invited players in a round robin tournament.
In early October we’ll be sending out a survey to email addresses attached to League of Legends accounts in Masters and Challenger to gauge interest in attending the NA Scouting Grounds. Players must complete the survey to be eligible for the event.
Best of luck in your climb!
Details and Additional Info
Scouting Grounds Eligibility
Role Restrictions
- Maximum 40% of your total games on one champion
- Minimum 30+ games on 4+ different champions in your desired role
For context, after conversations with current NA LCS teams, we feel being a one trick rookie creates significant limitations towards becoming a pro. Not only is the champion pool limitation exacerbated by the move to a 10 ban system, it also makes evaluation of other players at the event more difficult. Requiring players to have a broader pool of skilled champions to pull from will make evaluations easier and more beneficial for both attendees and team staffs alike.
Players Must:
- Respond to the survey that will be sent on October 18
- Be 16 years or older by the start of 2018 spring split (January)
- Not have played more than two League matches in a semi-professional league (i.e. the Challenger Series) in the most recent split and/or two League matches in a professional league (i.e. the LCS) during the past year
- Not be under contract by any semi-professional or professional team
- Be considered a North American resident, as determined by the Interregional Movement Policy
- Pass a behavior check, similar to NA LCS players, which reviews in-game behavior, Terms of Service violations, and looks at previous bans and/or suspensions
