Curse Academy received a bye into the Challenger Series semifinals by way of a forfeit from Cloud9 Tempest, so the only thing left to settle in the round of eight was to be who they’d be playing in final four. The best-of-three matchup between Team Coast and Team Green Forest would find out exactly that.

Game of the week

Team Coast vs Team Green Forest Game 2 After posting a victory in Game 1 that was never truly close, Team Coast looked ready to move onto the semifinals, but Team Green Forest wouldn’t go down without a fight. TGF’s main carry, Nado’s Ziggs, scored a pair of early kills, and looked like he was setting up to be the carry that Team Green Forest could need to tie up the series, but the trio of Goldenglue’s Yasuo, Wizfuijin’s Lucian and Daydreamin’s Nami had other ideas. After falling behind in the middle lane, goldenglue went wild farming everything he could, and used all of the gold attained to turn Yasuo into a split-pushing force. He made TGF send a pair of champions to deal with him, which gave Wizfuijiin and Daydreamin a chance to work their magic in the bot lane. ADC Wizfuijin went wild killing every TGF member in sight, and posted an 8/0/6 KDA. His partner in crime, support player Daydreamin, ended the game with a 0/0/16 KDA. The two of them laid down a ton of pressure, and freed up goldenglue to farm by rotating to the middle lane and battling Nado to a standstill. Nado was effectively stonewalled, the TGF snowball melted into the abyss along with TGF’s chances for making the semifinals.

Top Performers of the week

Apollo “WizFuijiiN” Price & Miles “Daydreamin” Hoard Team Coast’s bot lane duo combined to produce a 60 KDA, and their presence was felt all over the map. Wizfuijiin played Lucian in both games, and was an AD carry in the truest sense of the word. Daydreamin’s Nami saw action in both games, and there were excellent Aqua Prisons and Tidal Waves aplenty on the Rift throughout the series. Unfortunately for Coast, Daydreamin announced that the set would be his last as a part of the squad. With the semifinals looming, the team now has a question surrounding what was unquestionably one of the strongest parts of the team.
