Smoothie's Gragas support. Hot damn that was something to watch. I actually believe his Gragas support would have complimented their game 5 comp a lot better than Lulu and maybe would have given them the push they needed to win. His Lulu was good too, don't get me wrong, but when we talk about comfort picks... from this day on we shall fear the Smoothie Gragas.

The dude plays a better Grag than most top laners and junglers. Muh respect.

Sorta had to downvote only because you're kinda missing the difference between the two. Top/Jg gragas relies on actively exploiting the multiple forms of cc he has to create plays (tp/ganks) across the map. In the case of support gragas, his sole goal all game is to land a few good ultimates (can't dive in all the time due to not having the gold/items) and try to pick off targets similar to thresh only with the ability to also disengage. While he was decent on it (wouldn't call it great as I've seen far better performances in lck/lpl), it still remains a fringe support pick that I'd argue is entirely outclassed by about 4-5 other tank supports.

The #1 reason why this worked was because it was not anticipated to be their support pick. It was assumed their Top laner/Jungler, which was likely why TSM drafted the way they did. While it had success, it would not work a second time, or in general solo queue, since there, it could not be an effective flex pick without having the communication of a premade to help it along.
