Fantasy Scouting Report: Week 9
This week, ROCCAT rocked the LCS world by taking down both SK Gaming and Alliance, two of the strongest teams in Europe. Those upsets spilled over into Fantasy LCS where ROCCAT leapt to the front of the pack while SK dropped to the back.
Rising Players
Kerp
Even though Millenium split their matches for the week, Kerp Wetekam continued to prove himself as a reliable mid laner for Fantasy fans. Kerp scored an impressive 55.89 points, and even without the best KDA, two action-packed games allowed Kerp to pick up 12 kills, 18 assists, and more than 700 CS. The only players to surpass him in points were Kev1n and Celaver.
ROCCAT
ROCCAT completely turned the EU LCS on its head by taking down both SK and Alliance this week. Not only did this elevate them to a 10-10 record, but it catapulted them ahead of nearly all other teams in Fantasy LCS. With 39.00 points, ROCCAT were the surprising front runners of the league, tying with the Copenhagen Wolves for points.
VandeR
Oskan “VandeR” Bogdan’s 52.97 point performance this week follows a 52.27 point performance last week, making VandeR one of the best supports in the Fantasy LCS at the moment. While it’s too early to tell whether ROCCAT’s success is here to stay, those who kept them on their starting rosters finally reaped some rewards.
Falling Players
SK Gaming
For the first time in the EU LCS summer split, SK finished the week without winning one match, and it reflected in their Fantasy performance. SK trailed all other teams with a mere 8.00 points to their name. Likewise, the players themselves struggled to gather points, with nRated picking up a negligible 3.03 points and Svenskeren a mere 5.86 points.
Imaqtpie & KiWiKiD
Dignitas lost both of their matches this week, and that didn’t bode well for their bot lane duo’s Fantasy performances. This marks the sixth week in a row that Imaqtpie has failed to reach his predicted points, securing only 12.46 points out of an expected 35.00. KiWiKiD struggled alongside his AD Carry, netting only 3.24 points himself. With only three weeks left in the season, these guys seem to have run out of time to become the stars of Fantasy LCS.
Genja & Edward
Across the Atlantic, another duo experienced troubles of their own. With Gambit struggling to reinvent itself, Genja and Edward lagged behind in their roles with 12.76 and 7.41 points respectively. Edward, in fact, has only surpassed his week’s predicted points once this split. Gambit better hope that their recent roster changes start paying off soon, otherwise their success in Fantasy LCS, as well as the LCS itself, will continue its downward spiral.
