PGA is to SPGA as LCS is to ? Make a "Senior" LCS!!!!!
I believe that we NEED a Senior League of Legends Championship Series just like golf has a senior league. This would be a great thing for the sport, and the community.
There are a lot of great players that have retired because their reflexes just aren't what they were (see them working the commentator desk on the tournament feeds :). These guys got this league started, and they have been continuing to play, coach and work as expert commentators etc. It's clear that they are some of the most experienced players in the world. Just like in golf, great players simultaneously become limited by age while also becoming masters of technique and strategy. This mastery of the craft that can often only be acquired by age is what keeps fans watching these players, however, golfers have a league that puts those players all together.
What if LCS had a 30+ year old league that brought these legendary players back to play each other, what would that do? This would expand the league and provide more events for the fans to watch. Since the league would put the players on a more even playing field, there will be some epic games. With the years of experience on the "field" everyone from fans to current pros would have some things to learn from the strategies these legends could devise. This could elevate the current pro league skill level as they use pages from the veteran teams' playbooks. More people will be drawn to the sport because this would increase the longevity of a professional career. I think that with career longevity could come more legitimacy for the sport.
