I really find that with the current meta in the LCS that sivir would be a perfect counter to so many of the adcs that are being picked. With her ability to perfectly stop any chain from varus, arrow from Ashe, and out burst Jinn, plus the massive amounts of utility from her ult. i really find that she is underappreciated in the current LCS meta. so i was just wondering why the professional players are not thinking along these same lines.
Mostly because of her range. In lane, she gets completely destroyed and is lucky to come out with a low CS deficit. Late-game, it's easy to jump on her as Kha6 or Rengo, and she has no real way to get away. While her Spell Shield seems like a really good counter at first, there are so many different sources of CC and sources of damage that if she blocks one thing, she's dead from the next 5. And she can't even stand back to do damage, as her damage is all around her Ricochet crits and a little from her Q, the former of which requires her to be in short range of someone.
She's a good champion for this meta no doubt but at the same time she's not that great in lane, and is mostly an utility pick adc.
While this meta is more so around utility adc's it's more around just adc's doing X massive dmg but being called utility because they are no longer needed so much for dmg as mid/jng and now the supports can all do dmg early where they still need 4-5 items to be useful however Sivir needs a team that is ahead or her speedup ult is useless and is more to just get picks which is ok but more needed for teamfights.
Overall she needs 4-5 items easily to do any dmg where maybe another adc only needs 1 maybe 2 items to just blow people up.
Very low damage kit without alot of items, and games are shorter (and adc's worse), so it is just better to pick utility ad's like varus and ashe over damage carries
Sure she would be a somewhat counter in lane, but outside of that she is just free kills
