CLG at All-Star 2014

CLG may not have the best record as a team in North America, but it’s undeniable that they’ve got some of the most individually skilled players around. Plus, Doublelift likes to talk a bunch of trash. Vote some of the CLG players in, and North America is guaranteed to be represented by some of the most entertaining players the region has to offer.
Although he currently plays top lane for CLG, Nientonsoh got his start in the LCS playing AD carry for Team MRN. Thanks to his time in the role, he’s one of the most mechanically sound players in North America. As a result, he rarely makes mistakes during the laning phase, allowing the rest of his team to do what they need to do to get ahead.
But as soon as he leaves the top lane to join the rest of his squad, he gets a bit bolder. Often the initiator, he loves to turn chases around to fight, dive towers, and generally be a menace to the back line of whoever he’s playing against. Assuming the rest of his team follows up, he’ll help them put their best feet forward in team fights just about every time.
Dexter has to be loving how highly mobile, dueling jungle champions have become so popular in competitive play in recent months, especially two of his favorites - Elise and Lee Sin. He specializes in showing up out of nowhere to make sure his teammates are never at a disadvantage. A master counter-ganker, he’s got an incredible map sense and seems to always know where the enemy jungler will be.
This season, he’s been playing a lot of the AD Evelynn that Gambit’s Diamondprox popularized over in Europe. Of course, the stealthy lady fits his play style perfectly, and he’s been finding great success surprising enemies with immense amounts of damage. A jungler that can do more than just take care of himself, it's safe to say that Dexter would feel right at home in an All-Star lineup.
Not many people land skillshots like Link. He’s made a name for himself over the years playing snipers like Nidalee, Xerath, and Syndra, and he hasn’t shown signs of stopping this season. He loves nothing more than to sit back and poke away at opposing mid laners with Javelin Throws, Bouncing Bombs, or Barrel Rolls to drop their HP enough for a jungler to come in and clean up.
And good luck if you’re looking to get away from Link if you have low HP. You aren't even safe hiding in the brush, as he has a seemingly uncanny ability to hit and kill stealthed champions from long range. He may not be the most aggressive player in the LCS, but he doesn’t have to be. The excitement comes when he threads that one last spear through a group of minions, over a wall, or down into the Baron pit for an impressive, clutch kill.
What is there to say about Doublelift that he hasn’t already said himself? Long feared as one of the best players in the world, CLG’s AD carry is respected internationally for his impeccable mechanics and ability to turn ganks around into several kills for his team. Give the man Vayne and he’ll pull off some late game plays that will blow the mind of everyone watching. And that’s not even mentioning his famed Ezreal or the Sivir he’s played as of late.
But what makes Doublelift a truly special player to watch isn’t just the level of play he brings to the table. He knows how good he is, and he’s not afraid to tell everyone he meets. Quoted as jokingly saying things like, “I’m the greatest. Everyone else is just trash,” he’s provided entertainment for fans and his fellow players as well.
There’s a reason CLG’s bottom lane is nicknamed “Rush Hour” by the rest of the LCS. It’s really terrifying to play against Aphromoo and Doublelift’s crazy fast decision making and raw mechanical skill. Complimenting Doublelift's frightening playstyle, Aphromoo likes to field aggressive, playmaking supports like Leona and Thresh, and isn’t afraid to force a fight when he feels he has the advantage.
But that doesn’t mean he only goes all out. He’s more than capable of making incredible defensive plays, as evidenced by his skills working with Morgana in CLG’s recent LCS matches. He’s an extremely versatile player, and is always ready to put on a great show from the bottom lane, especially if those he’s laning against aren’t prepared for his bold dives and punishing playstyle.
