I am looking forward to the upcoming changes in the NA LCS regarding franchising. However, I am not completely sold on how it will benefit competition more than the current relegation system.

The real question is why YOU need to be sold on anything? Obviously Riot has the statistics and the people to make good decisions for the company. Where do you get this idea that competition will suffer? Do you think players will be like "Ah well I can just feed my ass off because no relegation". Players play the game, the TEAM stays. This means players either play good or get replaced.

With franchising I feel that teams will continue to actually try, some people feel that certain players/teams won't "try" because they're 100% locked and it just doesn't work like that honestly in sports, each game, each split, each year you need to produce or you're gone. With franchising I think teams will actually pull out comps that are different from the quote on quote "meta" and we could see a wide variety of champions, plays, and overall diversity in the league because the players know the team is safe from relegation, and for the most part the players are safe to some degree( again, if they don't produce on a day - by - day consistency they're gone) but such "cheese" comps can honestly help NA.

Look at NA at RR - sure, EU didn't really stand much of a chance but NA was facing another region with a different team comp and at Worlds those different team comps is what gets teams out of groups( not just NA's thought of copy paste Korea- TSM) but similar to Albus Nox Luna/Flash Wolves/Origen those different comps that surprises teams and make other teams think outside of the box instead of just playing within the box for a year, going to Worlds with 1 scheme that was practiced for a year and honestly, getting pawned!

Look at C9 for example - They came into the scene with team comps that in NA we didn't see much or even at all and they took NA to another level, Immortals while they were a little too early on such comps the showed they were ahead of their time, so I do think if players/teams know that they are safe and not have that at times over-powering thought of relegation we could see a more powerful region as a whole.

So Overall, do I like Franchising as a fan RIGHT NOW on PAPER - YES, do I know "ALL" of the potential and possible consequences that could follow such decision - NO, but we have to give a benefit of doubt to a company that isn't us but instead a company that makes big boy decisions and done so in the past also.

I honestly want to see how this affects the Chinese system more than I do the North American system. Considering that the LSPL is practically its own league in itself, more prominent than the other Challenger Series circuits, that just has my attention more. Franchising or not, nobody knows how beneficial it will be for both regions opting into it. With China I just want to see the changes to the LPL and LSPL. For NA regardless of matter I feel is not going to change all too much whatsoever. Feels like a 70-30 in favor of lose scenario as org names will no longer get any recognition in the region for not being able to compete with their own management to get in. Along with that, the better talent is still going to be wanted among fans and the teams themselves. You could almost even see it yourself should you have watched and reacted to Echo Fox's games from last week, especially on the fan side.

The franchising model will allow organizations to groom new players at the challenger level and be in their system. This in theory means that we should be able to develop more and better players with a 10 team challenger division.

Liquid. And let's face it. Liquid. Even now Liquid. There are. Liquid. Teams not trying Liquid very hard Liquid and using rent a players Liquid to stay Liquid in the LCS, Liquid and then turning around Liquid and fielding Liquid The same roster Liquid, again next Liquid. split Liquid. How competitive is that?

it makes sense in NA to franchise almost every other sport has for you guys now for EU we love our relegaton battles so franchising will probably be a bad idea which is why they have a regional leaugues and a ''champions league'' like football, which makes sense for us as EU
