Dear RIOT,

It' s about time for NA and EU lcs teams to settle the 2k18 season rosters and there are a lot of rumors about EU players moving to NA. Nothing new, NA money basically dragging EU talents into NA LCS, like it has happened in the past. This year tho it might be even worse from an EU fan perspective. The new franchise system that riot set for 2k18 NA LCS will be another incentive for EU players to look for an NA team spot and we' ll probably see a considerable flow of EU top pros getting imported in NA. I know this story is an old one, It has been told so many times that maybe it doesn' t even make sense to talk about it anymore but Buddha said that words have the power to destroy and create and that honest and kind words can change the world, so I might aswell give this a try.

I cannot hide how sad I personally would be if I saw the likes of Perkz or Zven or Caps or any other good EU player getting imported next year. I am a proud EU fan and I am sure I' m not only speaking for myself when I say that there is a feeling in the air about RIOT caring more for NA than for EU. There are a bilion reasons for which this is, and anyone will make his own cosiderations whether this feeling is founded or not.

We know that even tho EU has recovered in the past from player losses ( Bjerg, Yelllowstar, sven, froggen and even KR players first imported in EU then impo-imported in NA like Huni and Reignover and more...), the EU LCS has suffered from this situation, period.

After 2015 season in which FNC made world semis, 3 out of 5 players from that roster got imported in NA, result? 2016 FNC was a joke, IMT with Huni and Reignover didn' t even made worlds, TSM kicked Yellowstar after a split. We had a good western team in FNC and we ended up with 3 non-sense teams. Tell me who the beneficiary is in a situation like that one. There is no good face of the medal in this situation. EU is losing strenght and NA is not growing up their own talents. As I mentioned I think that this will get even worse from next year, and apparently this is not going to get better for EU anytime soon.

But careful don' t get me wrong. I am truly happy for the bright future of NA LCS. I wish that this will not hurt the EU LCS tho, I wish EU LCS could have the same amount of resources invested into it. I wish EU was allowed to keep their players, because honestly the argument "players are free to do whatever they want" is crap.

If you get a player to chose between a stable enviroment with a good paycheck and a region whos teams struggle to stay alive, what will he chose? NA LCS gets casted when it is 21 pm in EU. EU LCS gets casted when it is 10 am in NA. No wonder NA gets more views and income. As long as NA keeps getting more resources players won' t have a real choise.

I think this is the problem and having EU players moving to NA and therefore EU losing competitive strenght is detrimental to the west as a whole.

EU teams want to move to NA cause they struggle in EU with the few resources they are given, players want to move to NA , EU LCS views on twitch tv has become a meme and this is only getting worse. On top of that you would also like to see top EU teams losing key members? This is unfair. You said that you have plans for EU. Allowing the region to at least be able to keep their own players might be a good start.

regards

NA franchising won't impact EU that much. They want Koreans, with a trend that is going on from some season, and they will use those money to chase after them, using the new academies related to franchising system for the players that will need some time to learn English to communicate. Expect NA teams chasing more players like Piglet or Ray or even someone like Levi from an unexpected region

The lack of plans for EU LCS is the real problem The "Champions League" format that was rumored and pulled off after people complaining is probably the way Riot still wants to go one day or another (the whole EU CSQ process hint to that direction), but do the sudden jump would end up being terrible EU is not like NA scene that forced NA towards franchising, EU has the potential talent to expand the pro scene beyond the number of the current "pro teams" (LCS+CS), but not all of a sudden, we have a very strong amateur/semipro underwood that would need to be fostered to make those extra dozens of players ready for pro scene EU CS needs to expand the number of teams and get more exposure and money, and EU CSQ should be restructured to include the biggest regions that are now without an automatic spot (Italy, Balkans/Greece) for it if they really want to push that "Champions League" format and LCS expansion going forward
