This week, Edward Gaming tightened their map control against Energy Pacemaker, OMG took the top spot as the only undefeated team, and LGD Gaming added insult to World Elite's injuries. Invictus Gaming split both their series, giving Positive Energy their first win. Then World Elite redeemed themselves against EP to round out Sunday's games.

GAMES OF THE WEEK

Edward Gaming vs Energy Pacemaker Game 2 - Get the VoD here With full confidence in U's Kassadin, NaMei seemed determined to make his favorite champion, Twitch, work in the bottom lane. Fzzf went along for the ride by picking up Sona and completing Edward Gaming's time warp experiment. When ClearLove's dives top gave Energy Pacemaker a temporary advantage, however, redemption did not come from U's Kassadin, but from EDG's duo. Fzzf's Crescendos consistently won fights, and when NaMei couldn't put out damage, he baited over-extensions without falling. The boys are back in town. World Elite vs OMG Game 1 - Get the VoD here The bottom lane picks searching for redemption continued in this series with Allen's LeBlanc. Edward Gaming failed to pull off support LeBlanc last week, but Allen managed to snowball san this week. For World Elite, the gold lead was on rising star mid laner, sukiM. Though the game remained largely even throughout, with both teams exchanging turrets and Baron kills, san's well-timed Sivir ultimates proved why AD carries are still kings with the right team to back them up. Positive Energy vs Invictus Gaming Game 2 - Get the VoD here After losing the first game handily, few would guess Positive Energy could pull out an even split. Indeed, both top and bottom lanes started to lose, and illuSion's vision control netted his team an early dragon. Jojo, however, was determined. After getting a massive lead over Zzitai's LeBlanc, he managed to bait several fights that he turned them around with precise Wild Growths. In LPL, synergy often rules the day, but Jojo's standout performance won the game for his team.

BIG PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Fzzf Crescendo montages have begun to find their place in the archive of dying arts, but Fzzf made a strong case to dig them out this week. If one game wasn't enough, however, he also performed impressively on Alistar, allowing NaMei to get an advantage in a more flavor-of-the-month lane matchup. Rena After battering World Elite's sukiM with Ziggs, Rena picked up Orianna in the second game and proved the superior wielder of the golden ball. With WE's recent successes, no one has impressed more than sukiM, and for him to lose face two games in a row, even with adequate jungle pressure from Ruo. Jojo Though Positive Energy has been struggling in a search of an identity, they found their new star this week. Even with an AD carry main playing the jungle role, Jojo managed to dominate his lane opponent and turn fights throughout the game. As a result of his efforts, PE picked up their first win. illuSion Despite his team splitting even in both their series this week, illuSion's performance never seemed to falter. He racked up kills for his lanes and bought pink wards to solo dragons for his team. This week, he put his deep champion pool on display and pulled out successful Evelynn and Fiddlesticks picks. Banning Elise won't be enough to put him down anymore.

SURPRISE OF THE WEEK

LGD Gaming destroys World Elite World Elite awed the crowd the second week of LPL, and though they fell in two close games against OMG, LGD's recent wins seemed too dependent on Riven and Lee Sin picks for them to take a game from WE. In the first match, WE banned both offenders and crumbled in under thirty minutes. LGD's fast-paced early game never lets up, and they could yet rocket through the standings.

DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE WEEK

Energy Pacemaker goes winless Energy Pacemaker's debut cast them as the superior team to emerge from the Spring Promotion this year. They nearly flattened LGD, but with Rena and company's recent rise, it seems the shoe is on the other foot. Energy Pacemaker was the only team that failed to win a game this week, losing out to both Edward Gaming and a downtrodden World Elite in a near embarrassing fashion. The Hong Kong team may still have mountains to climb before they reach the sun. For more updates on 2014 LPL Spring, check out lolesports.com.
