Before getting mad at EU as a whole and getting pent up rage:

Please realise that not all supporters of EU teams (or even haters of NA teams) care about putting down NA as a region.

It feels like such a vicious cycle of:

  1. Either NA or EU out does the other somehow.
  2. Some supporters of the winning region take the piss of the other region.
  3. The supporters in the other region demonise all of the supporters of the winning region.
  4. Inevitably at some point the other region outdoes the region that last won and a load of people dub their cocky and stupid "NA>EU" or "EU>NA" comments as revenge for when they read comments saying "our region>your region."
  5. Cycle continues.

I noticed this because last year when NA outdid EU I saw so much spam coming from NA players towards EU and I was like what the fuck. But in the last month I've read loads of posts from NA players saying how EU gives it much harder than NA so I just realised that both regions shit talk each other and both regions notice the shit talk against them far more than their regions shit talk against the other region.

What I'm trying to say is please just everyone don't be stupid and jump to conclusions. The eSports fanbases are clearly extremely immature. I am from EU, I support EU teams, I would love for EU to do well but I have no interest in publicly posting about how much better EU is doing than NA because it's just nationalistic bullshit that we don't need and I don't care for. I would encourage this behaviour, by all means be happy when your team beats their international rivals but don't encourage bullshit like making twitch accounts about how PAIN beat CLG (looking at my EU mates there) because at the end of the day not all NA people made those accounts about Kabum.

Cheers guys.

Fun facts:

90+% of Europeans do not hate NA 90+% of NA does not hate Europe

We should not let a few braindead mooncrickets ruin it for the rest of us.

I don't think China deserves the benefit of the doubt this year.
The fact is, no one beats the Korean's preparation methods. The other regions don't require 16 hours of practice a day every day for their slave players. Thats why Korean don't perform amazing in other regions either.

It's a competition. Rivalries will always exist. Shit will be talked. If you don't like it go play a single player game with yourself. It's no different from cheering for anything else. There are winners and losers. The winners/fans of the winners will make fun of the losers/fans of the losers. Jesus Christ you people need to quit crying about everything and just enjoy the games.

The core problem is that you can't do a serious debate criticizing the other region without automatically being pointed out as a fanboy of your own region Too many times I tried to argument my opinion about why I didn't think well of certain aspects of NA scene, and the other people refused toi debate on arguments and started to try diminish my points using the "you are a fanboy" card

And the same thing was done by some other Eu guy when debating with NA people as well

It is because there are individuals who cannot tell the difference between civil discourse, trash talking, and arrogant/idiotic/crass. At the same time there are individuals who cannot have intelligent conversations about these sorts of things, because they confuse debating with arguing with hostility with some sort of tribal ties that go beyond logic and reason. It's not just LoL, though. It is true of a lot of sports fans in general.

It's like the difference between playful banter in-game against, say, your laning opponent, and just verbally abusing them as you are winning. It's the difference between joking at the end of the game of how they got fed and could 1v3, and saying EZ Bronze noobs. You have to remember it is the same demographic that is posting on these forums.

A good example would be supporters of Cloud9. The threads about how all of the energy allowed them to win is a form of funny smack-talk, because both sides are enjoying it. But then you have a few people who just want to post about how Cloud9 destroyed Fnatic because NA>EU and Fnatic choked and la-dee-da. They are most likely the same people who haven't posted a single things since Cloud9 did not move on, because they only have fun abusing the losing side.

TLDR: Sore losers make for sore winners.

Vicious Cycle? Wtf are you on man?

It's a playful competition that's existed forever, not just in e-sports. When it matters the yanks/rednecks/honkies and the limeys/micks/krauts have each other's backs.

Asians are a different story, but they don't care, they beat both of you all day, every day.

OP the whole problem with the League community lies in the age of the players. I am sure that 95+% of the toxicity comes from 10-15 year old that haven't developed fully yet. I am not talking only about ingame toxicity, but this in the forums/reddit/twitch chat and so on. This is one of the biggest gaming communities, but lets not forget it is GAMING. Many young people participate, who most of the time act before thinking. Usually they go with the flow ---> cough twitch chat cough. My point is that most of the times when kids hear something they think it sounds funny, they just repeat it and if you ask them to motivate this statement they can't. This goes for all the cancer threats and all other super serious cp they produce. Prolly noone of them thinks what exactly they wish, they just do it cause they heard it. Same goes for the EU >=< NA cp. They don't really give a s**t, they just want to repeat something and to be center of attention, and with statements like those they attract the attention of other people waiting to start the stupid arguement.

It's literally a contest of who has the third biggest dick. Korea>China>EU/NA

Kaboom was funny because it was unexpected. CLG was expected to lose or at least a possibility.

The Fact is by this point noone was hyping NA to win. EU last year had false hype at least.

EU last year did worst then NA it that simple the fans refuse to accept it. The lost to kaboom should not have happened.

NA this year sucks but no logical person would say they were good. Even CLG was not in the hype.

  1. make thread about NA>EU/EU>NA
  2. say how much you hate it
  3. acquire upvotes.
