We're officially knee deep in competitive League of Legends again folks, and we couldn't be happier. It's time for the Intel Extreme Masters League of Legends World Championship!

Teams have battled their way through the start of 2016 largely on their own turf, and now have fully developed regional metas and strategies, all of which will be on display in the largest international competition so far this year.

Eight teams from five different regions will duke it out in Katowice, Poland, beginning on Friday, March 4. Origen and Counter Logic Gaming enter by way of their first and second finish at IEM San Jose respectively. ESC Ever took home the gold at IEM Cologne and Qiao Gu Reapers the silver, meaning they'll be there as well. Fnatic, TSM, Royal Never Give Up, and SK Telecom T1 are the recipients of the regional invites.

Strap in everyone, it's going to be an awesome weekend!

Why is facebook telling me this starts today when it is the 4th. Is there something amiss?

It's great how LMS teams weren't included this year, despite strong showings from both AHQ and FW at MSI, Worlds and Katowice last year!!!!

There's four regions represented not five

Why the hell sre IEM tournaments always so shitty? You can never tell whats going on they don't make it easy to find anything. I didn't even know Katowice 2016 was hapnnening already although i heard knew it was coming up cuz Doa and Monte weren't casting LCK.

Is there no LCS this week?

Kinjishi3/1/2016, 1:20:23 AM1 votes

Origen (meh EU team right now), CLG, QG, and, ESC (challenger team) are automatically in. Fnatic, TSM, RNG, and SKT are the invites? Why not invite better teams Intel? sigh Immortals, Rox, Vitality, would have been better. Why nobody from LMS or other regions?

These match times are horrendous... Why can they not do the same times as EU LCS?? I will miss half the matches...

OG = Codex, they cloned themselves!

I think they fixed it.
