SK Gaming came into the EU LCS quarterfinals with momentum. They had just come off a strong showing the final Super Week, finishing 3-1. Meanwhile, Millenium had gone 1-3, leaving them with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove in the playoffs. When the two teams found themselves on the Rift, Millenium took the fight directly to SK. They looked to play with confidence, making risky plays that could result in feast or famine for the struggling squad. Just as our Survival Guide predicted, Millenium was on the hunt for blood. If they had found it, they would have had a good chance to advance. Unfortunately for them, SK Gaming was more than ready for them. Any time Millenium tried to make an aggressive move, SK responded like a brick wall - unmovable. While Millenium tried to brute force their way to victory, SK played with finesse, heading them off at the pass. Despite their best efforts, Millenium just couldn’t get anything going from their bold play. Historically, SK Gaming isn’t exactly known for their strong laning phase. Let’s take a look at the moments that exemplified how SK beat down Millenium’s bold moves.

Game 1 - The beginning of the end

The first game of the series was filled with Millenium’s aggression and SK’s stalwart plays to fend them off. So filled, in fact, that it’s hard to choose just one to highlight. So, we chose two. In both cases, Millenium thought they had the 2v1 advantage, only to be surprised by another member - or two - of SK.

Game 2 - Staying back

Despite ahead more than 4,000 gold in Game 2, SK Gaming wasn’t about to change their defensive strategy. They patiently waited for Jree's Alistar to go full cow, and then proceeded to wipre out the entirety of the Millenium roster.

Game 3 - Lux, interrupted

Lux’s ultimate, Final Spark, can deal teamfight-changing damage if used at the right time. Kerp thought he had found that moment, but Jesiz’s Ziggs had other plans.

Game 3 - Going in

After two games of punishing Millenium for their questionable initiations, SK Gaming decided it was time to try some of their own. Fortunately for them, their aggressive plays found significantly more success. After taking down Millenium in three games, SK Gaming has moved onto the EU LCS semifinals, where they'll face Alliance on Friday, August 15. Hope they get to worlds, would be a deserved and nice reward for a very nice season. At the start of the spring split the general thought was that SK Gaming's new roster ment a certain 8th place, and look what they achieved. :)

I've been a fan of Counter-Strike since the late 2004, that's when i fell in love with the team called Schroet Kommando, and it was all because of their counter-strike team and their icon! I cannot believe that i am still around with this team, and i can't follow/support other teams now, this team is basically my childhood, thanks for everything SK.

I'll stay blue till you guys tell me not to. <3
