Well, on the new Twitch talk show "Esports & Chill" they discussed having road shows during the season instead of IEM events. They said IEM event's don't make lots of sense in the off season, aren't really shown a lot of attention from Riot, have somewhat lackluster production compared to Riot's own, and just seem needless the way they're smashed together for the most part. IEM just seems weird cuz no one really puts much stock into the gameplay, the teams are invited in different ways, and most are during the hectic off season with roster changes happening.
Either way asking Riot to have seasons in 2 different places during the year for each League is probably asking a lot. Even asking for a Road Show (like LCS games for the weekend during the season being played at an MLG event) is probably asking a lot as well...just more expenses to the already huge esports budget Riot has, but it'd be cool.
