my thoughts are this:

1 year ago espn was making fun of gamers and saying how esports are silly and not sports at all.

1 year later espn starts featuring esports stories. freaking hypocrites.

Two things. One, Monte isn't actually a Riot employee. He's employed by the OGN and just recently turned down work from Riot because he claimed they weren't paying him enough. And two, considering Monte has a history of openly badmouthing Riot AND a lot of people are under the belief that this whole thing is just a conspiracy against him and Badawi, that makes it all the more surprising that he got off the lightest of the four people named.

Its exactly what Monte fans don't realize. Monte's personality/fans basically got him a slap on the wrist compared to the others involved.

Riot isn't out to get Monte. Its not Riot's fault Monte decided to go into business with freaking Chris Badawi of all people, someone banned and shady, and then go against their rules to allow this guy to basically run the team while he perpetuated the lie he was the owner. If anyone is to blame its Monte for being an idiot and associating himself with someone who is hated and in trouble in the LoL community.

It would be the equivalent of you meeting and Ex-con on the streets, listening to his story, believing him, and then getting him an important job in your company by lying about his background, and then him robbing you blind and costing the company money with your name attached to all the documents. Thats basically what Monte did. Hes lucky he only got a year. He is responsible for all the wrong-doings becuase his name is on them as the owner. He got slapped on the wrist because he is Monte. If he was someone else, a no name owner, I doubt he would get such a light punishment.

Its his own fault for associating with scumbags. You cant blame Riot for the company he keeps.
