All-Star Fantasy Picks: The Fantastical Froggen

No matter what is happening around him, Froggen plays like a champion. If his team is winning, he's probably completely out of control, either getting the lion's share of the kills or racking up double-digit assist numbers. If his team is losing, then he's the last one still standing, forcing his opponents to pay a blood-price for every kill they get against him.

Win-win situation

This is kind of player that fantasy LCS was made for. Froggen is a win / win proposition from week to week, one of the few sure things in an often chaotic EU LCS. More often than not, Froggen will be one of the players carrying your fantasy lineup in a week, and on days when Alliance run into trouble, he'll still wring a decent number of points out of a bad situation. If all else fails, his ridiculous farm is good for a few points in every game. Consider this: Froggen is the top-projected fantasy mid laner and is coming off a spring split where he averaged 18.8 fantasy points per game in a season where his team went just 16-12. The only two mids ahead of him, TSM's Bjergsen and Cloud 9's Hai, were on teams that won 22 and 24 games, respectively. Moral of the story? Froggen always wins, even when he doesn't. That's not just because Froggen is a great player, but because so much of Alliance's game is built around giving Froggen the opportunity to be a superstar. Alliance was formed because Froggen and Wickd needed a new scheme that would let them use their abilities to their full potential, and their old roster was starting to become a straitjacket. While Froggen's carefully-chosen Alliance team had a rocky start in the spring split, they matured a lot over the course of the season and are poised for a fantastic summer. With Froggen at the center of their strategy, a good season for Alliance could mean an MVP highlight-reel for Froggen.

Froggen's Dominance

Alliance's Week 10 matchup against the red-hot SK team showed just what a triple-threat Froggen poses to his enemies. If he gets warmed-up, he's capable of playing almost any and every role, all at once. He could come out of any brush for a quick gank, win his lane and take a commanding gold lead, or be the trump card in a major team-fight at an objective. Pick on Froggen, and he'll happily take the assists while his friends kill everyone. Focus on anyone else, and Froggen will cut down half the enemy team. If there's one thing Froggen's fans (and fantasy owners) will be hoping to see this summer, it will be a little more of the explosive, multi-kill moments that made Froggen one of League's biggest stars in Season 2. He managed a couple Triple kills in the spring split, but there are a lot of people who would make unholy bargains to see Froggen back on Karthus, dooming all his opponents with a well-timed Requiem like it was 2012 again.
