Is it too late for me to become a pro league player?

Hello :) So I have been playing league for about a year now. I'm 16 years old and I have always been into competative gaming. Before I played LoL I played world of warcraft in a top 50 US raiding guild. It was one of the best experiences in my life and after starting Lol I became determined to play at a competative level. I play 40+ hours a week and do everything I possibly can to get better. Today I reached gold, however players like Bergsen were already in diamond at my age. Does this along with the fact that I have only been playing for 1 year make it too late for me to become a pro lol player?

For me I really wouldn't recommend someone to go and become a pro gamer, it's by nature way too seasonal, opportunistic and more importantly, risky.

What is fun for you to do, once it becomes a job/chore, it for most people simply stops being fun.

Unless you're so in love with the subject you're absolutely ready to dedicate every single bit of life energy you have onto it, then yeah go for it.

Still, be prepared.

l0l age doesnt really matter, you could keep playing and depending on how you use your time you might be able to but some people just have that it factor that others dont.

If you're only gold at this point in the season, I'd suggest giving it up. Most, if not all, pro players become top .01% in their region during their first season playing ranked. While there are many ways every player can improve themselves, you have to understand that professional players have a lot of natural talent and sacrifice more than 40+ hours a week to be as good as they are. They are either playing league or watching league or theorycrafting league for most of their lives when they are in the midst of their careers. With even that much dedication, many professional players can and do quickly fall off and no longer become relevant.

Don't listen to them everyone has to start somewhere. And you only played a year most pro's now have played league for over 4 year. Gold in one year is pretty dam good most people can't do that.

That being said you have to be much much better as other have said above me. You are only 16 so you are still young. If your actual goal is to be pro don't give up on it just know that you are not there yet.

If you're only gold after one year of playing 40+ hours a week, it's hopeless. You either have bad mechanics or a bad understanding of the game, if not both, for not getting past gold. Also, considering the insane amount of time you've dedicated, you have no natural talent for the game and aren't even improving. Spend your time doing something you're good at, or get a job, or actually start studying in school. Pretty much anything would be more worth your while than 40+ hours a week in a game you're bad at.
