The team changes recently has seemingly messed with their flow when they broke up the longest lasting lasting team. they introduced dardoch and then right before playoffs traded him for a rookie juggler, this seems like they are having a mid season crisis.

these worries are based on the fact that they dropped 2 games to dig a new and almost certainly substandard team, it seems the only way they win if huhi is allowed to play his AurelionSol, anyway any thoughts?

*omar wasent traded but brought from their sister team (thanks Mye for catching it)

I feel like Xmithie and Aphro were a really needed combo for shotcalling in CLG. Since he left, CLG hasnt been looking good, and Dardoch was the kind of guy to just respond when his team needed him and get kills for the team. Omargod looks promising as hell but its too soon for him to be shoved into playoffs against guys like Xmithie, or Svenskeren. Darshan looks like he's starting to get burnt out, he has flashes here and there of how he used to be but i feel like he needs a break like DL took. This entire year just felt really off for CLG, i have no idea what happened.

I'd argue that spring was way worse than summer as it looked as if the team had no real short term or longterm strats at all aside from "pray that bjerg/jensen retire and C9 replace them with mancloud and pepiinero". At least now, they have a sister team and from what I can understand are thinking about expanding it so that they'll have 15 players across both teams (main and academy) learning off "experts". Short-term I fail to see how they'll make worlds at all barring another IMT collapse, but longterm they're theoretically set up to have a dynasty of sorts.

Edit: Oh, and they didn't trade to replace DD. Omar was on their sister team for the past 9months or so, and was brought to the main roster once they heard about franchising.

I have all but given up on CLG, and trust me, i stuck with them through all the thick and thin, all the inconsistency, but now i think i actually have to turn coat and drop them like their hot.

Nothing felt better than having faith in CLG and having it pay off. in 2015 where they 3-0'd TSM with their strongest team ever, last year in their games against RNG and SKT. But now moments like that are so far and few between, them losing in poor fashion just feels normal, and them pulling off a sloppy win just feels underwhelming. "Don't let Zion (he'll always be Zionspartan to me <3) play Fiora, dont let Huhi play Sol, focus Mithie/whatever jungler they swap out next. Thats the formula for success against CLG.

I think the problem with CLG stems from the problem with the LCS as a whole: Players are past their prime, but theres no new and better talent to take their place. Every season the teams just get swapped around with a new name and image, but are ultimately just the same tired players with only one or two new additions. Theyre starting to struggle to find the consistency they had when they were most relevant in their careers. Sure a lot of teams have academy teams under them, but how often do those academy players break into the LCS lately and perform? I PERSONALLY can only think of Jensen/incarnation, and hes whats 3 years old now? (LCS age of course)

CLG needs real help to reinvent themselves while they still have a chance.
