Is competitive League of Legends staged?

So recently I have been watching a lot of pro games, and have noticed a few odd things. First of all it seems as if LC$ is somewhat staged, sometimes in matches I see teams go from being gods in the early game to full blown retarded mid game and throw the game all together. If your a pro player and you play this game say 14 hours a day 8 hours of that being "scrims" with your team wouldn't your communication be good enough that you wouldn't blow a lead? Seriously how do you mess up a game if you play it like it's your job/a game you love. I simply cannot believe how pick and ban phase goes too, what the hell were TSM thinking picking an ALL ad comp? Could they not figure out that the enemy team would just build tons of armor and destroy them. I'm willing to even guarantee that TSM and CLG make it to the finals with CLG winning it for revenge for the two losses handed to them by TSM. I really don't see a point in watching LC$ anymore it's to fishy to me nowadays. Thoughts/opinions?

Have you ever seen the faces of those who just lost after having an insane early lead?

If not, you probably don't remember TSM Amazing crying on stage because he single-handedly threw a match in Season 4 worlds - right around the same time he truly became TSM Disappointing.

Please tell me how that was staged.

Nobody in LCS actually ever makes mistakes or goes on tilt. They are perfect machines; not even human. It's obvious LCS is staged because the real players don't do that.

I can see why one may suspect this, because this is what we're accustomed to in sport. However, I don't think eSports have reached a level to which this is interesting yet. Most fans I know don't pledge a specific allegiance to a certain team. We all look at them as the best of the best, and while we have a preference for one or more teams over the others, we like to watch them all play. The main difference is that a majority of say, football, fans are not actually playing football competitively in their free time. Many fans of competitive LoL also play ranked. A certain team pulling a victory won't be interesting enough in order to stage it happening, since we have something to learn from every team.

The crux of your argument seems to be 'Professionals don't screw up.' They do. All the time. Just watch any professional sport. Hell, just look at the news. NASCAR drivers crash, MLB pitchers choke, and basketball stars miss their free throws. I'm sure it's much more fun to imagine some huge shadowy lair with Riot sitting in the center pulling strings like a Bond villain to ensure none of the hundreds of past and present people involved in the LCS reveal the Great Conspiracy, but the simple fact is that people are human, mistakes will be made, and underdogs will sometimes win matches. It can start as simply as one team member being sick or having a bad day. It's just how things are.

Also, the fact you call it LC$ makes it plain where your bias is and causes you to lose all credibility. Also makes me think you're just trolling.

So because I put LC$ it makes me bias, and also a troll? You sir are a dim wit

Have you ever heard of acting? That's what staged means o.o

Alley Way Creep3/23/2015, 10:52:21 AM1 votes

I still believe it's staged my opinion though :)

So because of your post, it nullifies my opinion? I've seen plenty of people cry in events that are staged does that make it not staged?
