Philadelphia 76ers acquire Team Dignitas, Apex

Just read this article and found it pretty interesting. Not only does this make NA's LCS more interesting for next split (with there being a ton of storylines with c9c/efox/TL/IMT and now with what is sure to be a stacked dignitas team), but it also makes esports as a whole more interesting. For a while, sports franchises were "Fearful" in investing on esports. Now that teams like schalke and now the 76'ers are dipping in, it should hopefully lead the way to where there is no instability with them and where we could see them lasting for more than a couple of years.

The return of Dignitas... funnily enough replacing the team that initially replaced them.

Now someone needs to tell the 76ers not to tank for lottery picks and all should be fine.

It's pretty cool that they basically acquired Dignitas' old spot and gave it back to Dignitas and bought Dignitas itself XD

Well riot is finally talking about Organizing LCS for the long term, so if they follow through it will be safer for long term investments on players by team owners, and teams by sponsors. Right now owners and sponsors are hesitant to put up too much__ money for LCS since you run the risk of being relegated twice a year, or being banned permanently with no chance for an appeal.

76ers made the right choice in acquiring both franchises. Take a look at other celebrities investing in NA LCS teams. NBA legend Rick Fox with EchoFox and Shaquille O'Neal having a stake in NRG. This would pave a way in other sports personalities having a say whether or not eSports is considered a sport. Even active player, Utah Jazz's Gordon Hayward, is the first pro athlete to register with IGN Pro League.

This would only be the beginning of more celebrities and/or athletes to get more involved with eSports.

the 76er's are going to be disappointed in learning there is nothing to gain from tanking in the LCS
