I'm probably going to be hated but I actually like the new death timer, to watch atleast.

Its more like tradition sport that way, I always thought there was this huge problem in their competitive scene. There was no way for a come back win in this game...** Once you start snowballing even a little bit, most of the time you can just continue that snowball all the way til the end**. OR you get to a certain lead and keep it there til a key moment to capitalize and win off of that one play because the other team always have to play defensive.** And even if they did manage to kill you**, since you build up all that lead you can just tone/slow down the game and wait for the other opponent to make a mistake cause now the map is more open (presume that they took turrets after killing you).

Historically, League has always favoured the early game champions or the early game teams. Team that arent scared to make plays even with mid-late game champions. Because teams that tends to snowball or capitalize well in the early game tends to win the game. So you usually always know when a team is going to win by the first 20-25mins. Then either the team with the advantage will kill them all within 30mins of the game, OR the opposing team has to wait out 50mins until late game (if they drafted late game) to even has a chance of winning and even then they can still lose.

With these new death timers even if you have a huge lead, the pros cant be stupid with the leads they have. If they want to win they have to use the lead they have and play it with great caution even though they are ahead and not just mindlessly dive and win the game cause they have a 5k adv. Now they actually have to think, what is the most efficient move or teamfight before processing.

Its like basketball, there is always a way to get comeback.. If I'm going to use basketball terms, its like if the Golden State Warriors 20 points down and then Steph Curry-Klay Thompson hit 6 3 pointers and 4 2s to comeback and win the game. There is always a chance of a huge comeback, a huge upset, and always a way to win even in bad situations, instead of a slim chance of pulling that off.

Most people would argue that long death timers reduce that chance significantly. Before, if you were behind and died, you could come back on the map. Now when you are behind and die, GG.

old death timer: lots of action, aggressive moves, snowbally and competitive games.

new death timer: 30 minute farm feast one teamfight wins the entire game.

btw for your "have to not be stupid even with lead" theory, IMT in regular season is probably biggest offender. they often fuck up but due to them being crazy fed it doesnt matter much.

The thing is, certain team excel at snowballing leads. It's an interesting style, I think SKT is one team that does it the best. ROX and G2 also have a style something like that, where they roam the map looking to pick people off, try to get into the enemies mind and let them make a mistake then BAM two kills and a turret go down.

Other teams excel at turtling and stalling. H2K does this, but so does OG, Jin Air, CJ Entus, and occasionally KT. Jin Air imo is the best at turtling in the world. SKT does something similar; SKT usually doesn't do anything early game. When they snowball a lead, that lead comes from their immaculate mid game. JIn AIr turtle for late game, SKT turtles for mid game.

Turtling actually isn't that great in the current meta, because the current meta is all about well executed dives. That's because of weak turrets, damage junglers, and tank tops.

There's a difference between "comeback" and "total annihilation".
