Collegiate eSports Organization Looking for Advice

Hello my fellow Summoners. I'll cut to the chase. I am the the President of a small, but growing collegiate eSports club in beautiful Kennesaw, Georgia of these great United States at Kennesaw State University. As our organization grows, I would like to hold more events besides our semester traditional League of Legends tournament. However, garnering financial support and reaching a wider audience has been difficult these past few months. Below is a list of things we could use some assistance on. Could anyone out there help a young organization?

  1. What are some innovative and interesting fundraising ideas?

  2. How do we recruit more people in a non-social media, local related way?

  3. Besides League of Legends, what are some engaging, competitive, and fun eSport video games? And what kind of events could we have for them?

  4. What are some ways to manage, improve, and generate traffic for a Twitch.tv?

  5. Besides gaming sessions/tournament, what are some fun on-campus events we could host?

From everyone at the Kennesaw State University eSports Organization, I thank you for your response.

Hello. I'm not an officer or anything for my collegiate club. But I do talk with those people a lot. So here is what I think.

  1. Buy in for a 1v1 tournament. Either have the champions be random or pick a champion and everyone has to play that champion.

  2. By putting flyers in buildings around campus with what days/times you guys meet. Other than that, I would say ask the people that already come, to bring a friend with them.

  3. Here, Super Smash Bros is pretty competitive. And it's just on DS. 1v1 or 2v2 tournament. Hearthstone and maybe starcraft?

  4. You just have to throw it up on your social media outlets. That's pretty much all you can do. You can't expect people who don't go to Kennesaw State to actually watch you guys. There's usually pros that people would rather watch. Not to be mean or anything. And if you don't have a FB page and Twitter, I would highly suggest getting one up.

  5. Coaching sessions maybe at your student center. Have your top players in whatever game(s) and have them answer questions or go over basic things.

I watched a LOL tournament of a LOL club at University of Maryland. I think that they got the tournament sponsored by Capital One bank or something
