Best way to handle the new LCS UI...
Just remove it when it's not being discussed. We remove webcams and item builds when there's team fights, we remove everything for replays, keystones after discussed early game. If there's downtime and they wanna discuss item builds or odd choices by players, bring the screen up, but if there's any action or stuff is just going as normal the screen doesn't need to be up. This maximizes uptime of full screen cept when needed, and they can keep the UI they have with very little to change. If anything have the player icons on the side with what very little info we need all the time (faces of whos dead/alive, ult timers, maybe summoners) and that's about it.
I just don't think people really need every single bit of information on the screen at all times, seems like an inefficient way of doing things. When it comes to watching games, 90% of the time i'd imagine people look at the gameplay or the minimap, another 5% at the scoreboard. very rarely do I look anywhere else and if I do it's only for a second or two, or because the casters are discussing it. Have all the info open all the time for the casters obviously, but hide it for the spectators most of the time until needed.
Edit: This also accents the information being talked about much more than before. I notice people asking what patch they're playing on even tho sometimes it's in the bottom corner. Having a bar pop every now and then that says what patch it's on for a few secs stands out much more to the eyes than it rolling here and there during the broadcast. I really do see this as a much better way to handle the UI compared to before...shit you could even keep the old UI if you did this lol. Just realized watching the TSM game today, this is how you do lane swaps now as well. Makes sense:)
