Why I prefer watching Esports over normal sports.
DISCLAIMER I am using my phone to write this, so there may be some spelling errors, I apologize in advance; with that out of the way, here is my "presentation." First of all, my motivation for writing this is because my friends invited me to watch the Wisconsin vs duke game. While I was there, mind you these guys are huge Wisconsin fans, they were getting really pist, they said the refs were paid off, and I agree, it did seem rather unfair for Wisconsin, but I really don't follow basketball that much, so what do I know. This leads me to my first point, there are no refs in Esports (or at least from my knowledge) so are no fouls so people don't feel cheated. However, I do realize that referees are very important in sports, so people don't break the rules, video games don't need them because the rules are sort of "built in" so to speak and I prefer an unbiased system to determine what is fair, no, not fair, possible, because anything you do in games is allowed. NOTE I when I say Esports I mean league, sorry i didn't put this in the disclaimer, I'm lazy. My next point is that the games are more acessable to me on my pc, unlike real sports, which currently require cable or some other thing like trutv, was it? All I have to do is either load up twitch or YouTube, which requires only Internet and a pc instead of cable and a t.v. I'm not so sure this is a valid point since this is all about the availability instead of content, but I'll add it anyways. My third point is that Esports are more strategic than real sports. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of strategy involved in real sports, but I just feel Esports require more mental capabilities, and I prefer that over the mix of physical and mental requirements of playing a "real" sport, it just makes me feel I can become a pro too, even though I am not nearly as good as them. I also enjoy how league is always changing just to switch things up a bit, it really keeps the game fresh, but it's a little unfair to use that point because you can't really switch up a lot of the "real" sports. So yeah, that's my whole take on the subject, I was just bored and decided to spew my thoughts onto the boards. Hope you enjoyed, feel free to criticize my wall of text, have a good night. -Zach
