Spoilers mid-cast

So I'm someone who prefers to watch VODs rather than watching games in real time. Generally I have them on another monitor while I'm at the office, and I enjoy having the opportunity to watch the ups and downs of each match while I work.

Sometimes though, it happens that two broadcasts streamed simultaneously, and when one stream ends before the other, the ongoing stream will announce something to the effect of, "And welcome to those of you coming over from NALCS2, Team X vs. Team Y, where team Y has just clinched their position in the finals 1-3, so whoever loses this match will be facing off against Team Y for one last chance to make it back into the LCS." I'm sure that's not a direct quote, but something along those lines happened recently in Game 4 of the Winner's bracket in the NA Spring Promotion series.

Because I'm watching VODS, I'm usually planning to watch both streams in their entirety, and it's frustrating when I've managed to avoid all spoilers going into a highly anticipated game to have it shouted at me during another game before I can get there. I understand why results should be displayed before and after games, but if I start watching at pick/ban and tune out when the nexus explodes, I'd love to be able to have a spoiler free experience.

Is anyone else in the same boat, or am I just in a niche situation?

That's honestly something I've gotten accustomed to. I mean it's kind of the effect of having a simultaneous cast such as the NA LCS. In means of the NA Promotion Tournament, I considered that more of a Freudian Slip by Phreak; there's usually welcoming the viewers and just that lately unless both games end and the post match analysis is midway. It's quite uncommon to have the matches deliberately spoiled these days, especially as a VOD - watching it live feels like you can sense how that series turned out.

Reminds me of the early days of dual casts where it was "Dash's face on screen, expect spoilers." Lately that's lightened up to satisfy VOD viewers but on occasion it pops up from time to time. I honestly think it's nothing to get too worried about, especially given the match ups anyway. Imagine if it were like two can't miss/must VOD matches and the slip occurred as one ended early? You can't go completely spoiler free in most anything; that's my point.

I'm just glad that the ESports announcements/articles that show up on the Boards have gotten better about not spoiling things with their titles.

I 100% understand where you're coming from I reallly do, but at the same time Riot/casters will tend to spoil such things for the best of the current situation/vod fans. It's annoying and tough at times to hear who won from another vod cast but sometimes it's needed for the bigger scheme of things.
