(Edit: Sorry, just realized I misspelled Dignitas' name in the title, early morning, and unfortunately can't change thread titles.)

Just found this bit of news while browsing around trying to find details on the status of NA LCS Summer Split schedule (and TDK/REN/TIP). Here's the quote of the news in their press release

Since our relegation from the North American LCS we have been weighing up our short term and long term options regarding our involvement in League of Legends. With no immediate return to LCS possible, we have decided to therefore transfer our Challenger slot to Apex Gaming. They will also be taking over our gaming house in Los Angeles.

Our LCS Mid Laner Danny 'Shiphtur' Le and AD Carry Apollo Price have both been transfered to Apex Gaming as well. A more detailed announcement regarding their roster will be made by Apex Gaming, be sure to keep an eye on their website.

We will pursue all options moving forward so that we can return to the highest level of League of Legends as soon as we can. Stay tuned to team-dignitas.net for further updates.

Here's another post of interest I found on Dignatas' sub-reddit, discussing this a bit more. with someone from their staff talking about a few more details. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeamDignitas/comments/4gorme/in_the_words_of_coldplay_everythings_not_lost/

It seems part of this decision is to focus finances and support on the organization's other E-Sport teams in the EU for a bit. He also cites that they do still have plans to return to League's LCS one day. Given the fact that NA wasn't specifically named, bit of speculation on my part, but that might possibly mean they intend to bring back DIG in the EU LCS.

I feel like they're just going to wait and then buy a spot in NA/EU LCS when they get a chance to/feel like it... Either way it's interesting that Apex feels confident enough that they can stay in the LCS considering they couldn't beat TIP or REN in a Bo5 (although I guess they did take a game off TIP), but I was highly expecting TIP to lose to Apex based on how each team had been performing prior to the promotion tourney. My expectation will be that Apex places 8-10th and their challenger team is placed 3-4th (in CS playoffs).

To be fair, it was kinda just a formality (news of dig selling their spot to apex was around for the past couple of weeks or so).

Also kinda gotta agree with this. As of right now, I don't see them beating any of the current LCS teams or any of the ones I "imagine" we might see (let's not forget that there are still 2 spots open, and there are a bunch of quality free agents like Seraph/Ninja who are still more or less "up for grabs" ). They won't be absolutely terrible like pre-seraph renegades was, but they definitely won't be making the playoffs.
